Passions run high at the Super Bowl. A great many people bet money — not only on the outcome of the game but on every single quarter of it. Oddsmakers make bank for predicting the right outcome. Last night Donald Trump decided to play an oddsmaker himself — and promptly blew it. A lot of people were upset by that. And a lot of others were upset that he even went to the game. Who knows? One thing about being a Monday morning quarterback, everybody has a theory. Some say that Trump jinxed the game. Others say that Philadelphia hates Trump and were therefore inspired to play better than usual to make him wrong for betting on the chiefs. We have to take the comic relief where we find it. Right now Trump is on the verge of starting WWIII in the Middle East or at the very least committing crimes against humanity. Those are not good options. So enjoy what levity you can while you can. It’s not going to be too comical in the days and weeks to come.
