Talk about dystopian futures. We’ve all read and/or seen movies of 1984, Brave New World, V For Vendetta, Mr. Robot, you name it. We could go on and on. But nowadays the political situation has become so unglued that what used to be entertaining speculative fiction is now suddenly come to pass. We are literally watching our society undergo great upheaval in real time. Unelected officials chosen by Trump — or chosen by people Trump has chosen — wield unthinkable influence. Cataclysm and the apocalypse are right around the corner.  I’m not surprised that this image is here talking to us now. It makes perfect sense.

Our alliances are fracturing, yes. Everything that is said here makes sense. But I fear that we’re not going to have some mysterious superhero character swoop in and save us. We’re going to have to save ourselves. And with both chambers of Congress knuckling under to Trump for fear of retribution, that particular check and balance doesn’t seem to be working.

That leaves us with the courts. There have been a few hopeful signs there. Birthright citizenship hasn’t automatically vanished as Trump had wished, with the stroke of a pen. But the scariest thing of all is what President Musk is doing behind closed doors.

A “SPECIAL GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEE” wealthy beyond the dreams of Croesus, chose as his first target the poorest and most vulnerable people on Earth. On Sunday evening, Elon Musk and his peach-fuzz adjutants locked employees of the U.S. Agency for International Development out of their email accounts, shut down the agency website, announced that nearly everyone would be fired, and crowed that USAID had been fed into a “wood chipper.” President Onlooker muttered approvingly that the agency had it coming because it was dominated by “radical left lunatics.” Musk called them criminals.

USAID is a duly constituted government agency created by Congress and the president. By law, it can be shut down only by Congress and the president. The attempt to close it by the whim of a ketamine-popping oligarch is flagrantly illegal, and will eventually, one assumes, be reversed by the courts. But that could take months (and there’s a sting in the tail, which I’ll come to in a minute).

Meanwhile, Americans who work for the agency, most of them overseas, have been thrown into chaos, and the people who benefit from the assistance have been left in the lurch. That includes people on the verge of starvation in Yemen; AIDS patients in sub-Saharan Africa; people clearing landmines in Cambodia; medical workers treating people with malaria, cholera, and measles in Sudan; and those providing medicine, housing, food, and other assistance to Ukraine, among millions of others worldwide. Until last week, USAID was the largest distributor of humanitarian assistance on Earth. Today, by abruptly pulling the plug, the world’s greatest humanitarian country has become one of its least, raising a huge middle finger to those facing hunger, disease, war, and oppression.

Silicon Valley types like to move fast and break things. I guess that’s fine if the only thing you break is your own bank account, but applying that spirit to foreign assistance (again, without a shred of legal authority) means breaking human beings. And it means criminal waste. Wasn’t Musk supposed to be seeking to limit waste? According to two sources with knowledge of foreign assistance activities at the Department of State and USAID, more than 475,000 metric tons of American food commodities (purchased from farmers in Texas, Kansas, Nebraska, and Iowa) have already been ordered and are now at risk of rotting at railroad sidings or ports. Another 29,000 metric tons, valued at $30 million, are reportedly sitting in a Texas warehouse and cannot be shipped to needy people.

Most of the 10,000 people who work for USAID have no idea if they will ever see another paycheck. Those in conflict zones like Ukraine are unsure whether they retain diplomatic status. They’ve been told to come home but they have no guidance about how or whether the government will pay for their transportation. They’ve been locked out of their phones and their computers and feel anxious and isolated.

They are not the only ones who feel that way. And the worst part of all this is that legacy media sanewashes this daily. TIME Magazine rather controversially chose Trump as its Person Of The Year. Is Musk going to be its next choice?

This began with Musk buying Twitter a few years ago. That was read as disaster then and disaster it has turned out to be. So where do we go next from here? More importantly, where does it all stop?

  1. Dig into USAID vs. Musk and his Starlink. One of the 18 IGs illegally dismissed was looking into what illegals deeds Starlink has been pulling with regard to Ukraine.

  2. Anonymous is correct. There are vulnerabilities to be breached and I can think of 2 that would be easiest to exploit. Sphincter Face is very susceptible to being laughed at and pushed aside…we must remind him in every way possible that he is not in control of his Nazi and the MuskJuden. TIME magazine’s cover was hard on #47 and we have to multiply the mocking so he will act against Musk while he still can. Mock him on his new EO inviting white-only South African refugees. We know it wasn’t Sphincter’s idea to offer aid and comfort to AfriKKKaaners!! Slap #47 with his image as a Muskpuppet…he’ll explode against his “friend!” Second, Dems in Congress are you f-ing kidding me?! “Well, we went to the door of the Dept. of Education, but the guy wouldn’t let us in!” Don’t whine about it! Find your allies in the NFL and law enforcement…you know, those with intimidating body mass! Take them with you and when the nameless guy at the door flashes his toy badge at you, tell him to talk to your allies while you go inside the building. No violence. Just meet their attempts at intimidation with real intimidation of your own! FORCE THEM TO ENGAGE! And, when they react, get it on film and show citizens what those jackasses are doing!! Flood the zone with your engagements against the bullshit! ✊️✊️🤬🤬🤬

  3. One little puke the Muskrat put into the Treasury got caught with his pants down. He had posted that he was a racist before it was cool and backed eugenics based immigration laws. After resigning in disgrace he was rehired by Elon.
