Shades of Paul Gosar. We really should listen to the families of people who say that their relative, who is an elected official, really should not be an elected official. Or, in the case of Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., a nominee to a very high post. Caroline Kennedy, JFK’s daughter and Bobby Junior’s cousin, penned a letter to the Senate, exhorting senators to not vote to confirm Bobby as head of Health and Human Services. Washington Post:
“I have known Bobby my whole life; we grew up together,” wrote Kennedy. “It’s no surprise that he keeps birds of prey as pets because he himself is a predator.” […]
She goes on to claim that through “the strength of his personality,” other family members followed Kennedy Jr. “down the path of drug addiction.”
“His basement, his garage, his dorm room were the centers of the action where drugs were available, and he enjoyed showing off how he put baby chickens and mice in the blender to feed his hawks. It was often a perverse scene of despair and violence.”
She commended Kennedy Jr. for “pulling himself out of illness and disease” but lamented the “siblings and cousins who Bobby encouraged down the path of substance abuse suffered addiction, illness, and death while Bobby has gone on to misrepresent, lie, and cheat his way through life.”
No wonder Bobby and Trump get along so well, since Trump has also misrepresented, lied and cheated his way through life. Not to mention stolen. To RFK, Jr.’s defense, we don’t have any workmen or contractors complaining about how they were stiffed, as in Trump’s case.
“I would say that our family is united in terms of our support for the public health sector and infrastructure and has the greatest admiration for the medical profession in our country and Bobby Kennedy has got a different set of views,” Caroline Kennedy said at the time.
Caroline Kennedy joins Mike Pence, Senator Bill Cassidy, who chairs the Senate’s health committee, and most importantly Mitch McConnell, who is a polio survivor and has no patience for RFK Jr.’s nonsense. Also, Patty Murphy of Washington met with RFK, Jr. and said it was the “most troubling meeting she’d ever had with a nominee in her entire career.”
It would be good if senators would listen to RFK, Jr.’s detractor’s. He is probably the most far out of any of Trump’s nominees, with the exception of Pete Hegseth. The reality of the situation we face is that some of Trump’s nominees have to be replaced with less extreme candidates. Some of the cabinet posts have to be held by reasonably sane and qualified people to offset the disastrous picks like Hegseth. And heaven forfend that Tulsi Gabbard gets confirmed but we’ll jump off that bridge when we get there.

My first thought was, that RFK jr is a truly sick man. Then I realized he is very much like Trump, they both seem to have similar sickness.
