This woman is seriously unhinged. If anybody here has a relative in either South Carolina or Washington, D.C. who is a mental health professional, there is a crazy woman who commutes back and forth between those places. The substance of her mental illness is a pathological need for attention. Nancy Mace is on television more than any other member in both chambers. She lives to be on TV. When she can’t get a TV booking (and evidently today is one of those days) she has to resort to social media. It’s a quiet news day. Certification of the election took place — but WAIT! Maybe it DIDN’T! Maybe, may be, the Democrats are trying to steal it!!! OMFG! Nancy Mace to the rescue, get the mics and the cameras!!

Nobody is trying to steal anything. The certification process went off without a hitch — like it’s supposed to in a democracy. But Nancy Mace is jonesing for attention and so she’s got to play Paul Revere and warn us of a menace that doesn’t exist.
Mace just has to have the spotlight. She must have a vacuum where her soul is supposed to be. Nobody remotely normal needs to create drama like this. Now in all fairness, I have seen a few Twitter-philes who have come up with persecution fantasies. The Krassenstein brothers used to indulge in that before they were banned for breaking Twitter’s rules by “operating multiple fake accounts” and “purchasing account interactions.” So I’m assuming money was the underlying cause for creating drama on social media.
And Nancy Mace may make a few shekels from her online presence. I wouldn’t know. But I don’t think that’s it. I think she simply has to create a drama that she can be the star of because that feeds some deeper need. Maybe those of you with a degree in psychology can chime in.
The woman is truly pathetic. She may outdo Michelle Bachmann, who for years was the GOP’s biggest embarrassment. Bachmann is looking reasonably sane by comparison. That is how far the Republicans have fallen. In fact, Mace is loonier than Bachmann and Sarah Palin put together. I never could have imagined what that kind of a hybrid might look like, but by George, I think we’ve got it here.
Even Marge Greene has stayed silent today and she thinks every election not won by Republicans is stolen. But no, Mace had to jump in. She’s not getting too much attention beyond laughter, though. And maybe that is enough. Maybe any attention, even negative, is enough to feed her sickness. I guess she doesn’t exist unless somebody is paying attention to her.

I still remember her running around the halls of congress proudly displaying the scarlet “A” on her shirt.
