Maybe we should have a contest and see who is the Dumbest Republican Congresswoman? We had Louie Gohmert hold the title of Dumbest Congressman for any number of years. Then Paul Gosar began to give him a run for the money with some of his stranger utterances. But we haven’t picked Gohmert’s female counterpart. Before today I would have said give the award to Lauren Boebert, hands down, but Nancy Mace in fact takes the prize. How? She said something gloriously stupid because her need to be an attention whore overrode all and so she leapt before she read — and misunderstood what she was in fact saying.

Mace deleted her stupid post while I was in the process of writing this, so somebody apparently got to her and told her she was making an ass out of herself. I was despondent, having lost a good story while writing it, but lo and behold, there were screenshots taken. There are ministering angels on Twit/X who screenshoot the accounts of congress critters and hold them accountable. You can’t run and you can’t hide on social media.

Evidently Mace has reading comprehension issues or just doesn’t follow the news at all. This was not a “win” for Trump, this was a loss. Trump attempted to challenge the verdict and get a new trial and the court said uh uh and upheld the original verdict.

And I’m sure that both George Stephanopolous and ABC News/Disney have had plenty of time to ruminate on rolling over like a dead fish when they had a specious defamation case brought by Trump. ABC had the facts on their side and they had the law on their side — but they’d much rather have Donald Trump on their side and screw the rule of law. That is a decision that they’re all going to take a while to live down. It was thought at the time that ABC did it so as to avoid bad publicity but the publicity they’ve gotten from rolling over is nothing short of terrible.

As to Mace, her jab at Stepanopolous blew up in her face because either she didn’t know what “uphold” meant or what the case was about. Or, she didn’t care. She just needed her attention fix for the day, the dopamine rush, and so she created a cause celebre that wasn’t.

Or, Mace may have started in with the New Year’s celebrations a bit early, and simply wasn’t able to focus. Who knows? At least it gives us a break from “no balls in our stalls” so I suppose that we should be grateful for that, right?

I wonder why Mace isn’t just as concerned at the “beards in our stalls?” A good number of trans men (and there are more than a handful out there) sport facial hair–some pretty significant (almost resembling Roseanne in that Halloween episode where she dressed up as a man–and even entered the men’s room at the Lobo Lounge). Years ago, when North Carolina decided that “small government” didn’t apply to cities like Charlotte deciding to allow people to use whichever restroom matched their gender identity and chose to institute one of the country’s first “bathroom bans,” a number of trans men sent pictures of themselves IN public ladies’ rooms and calling out the legislators and governor who claimed to be “protecting” women by asking them how they felt about *these* men using the ladies’ room. AFAIK, they never got any kind of response from the transphobes (who seem to believe that only trans women exist).

  2. Is it just me or are the GOP heads falling for impossible stupidity as an inside job?

What is becoming of the GOP’s future? Is there actually a REAL plan of action out there, or are a handful of republicans, certainly PO’d, about the election and Trump’s apparent free ride out of prison … going to do ANYTHING GOOD for our country?

I certainly hope that Trump leaves things to better, actual brains in respect to former Peanut farmer and nuclear physicist Carter, Carter’s intelligence was on a giant scale more than Trump’s peanut sized brain, Carter served on a nuclear sub to make sure the nuclear engine systems were working properly … He actually visited Iran’s labs to see for himself what was going on there, wearing those little booties and hazmat gear …

Of course, the Carters are well known for their involvement with building homes for deserving families, Trump would not even know which way to hold a hammer, and, (what’s a nail). would be asked by the failing and frail Trump …

Carter knew stuff, LOTS of stuff, Trump knows virtually nothing about anything …
