The disintegration of the Republican party is amply demonstrated by the fact that Donald Trump is its standard bearer. Yet even beyond that, there is infighting which boggles the mind. It is pretty weird indeed for a junior senator from a given state to attack the senior senator from that same state. You don’t see a lot of that going around. And you certainly don’t see that scenario in a situation where the senior senator is the Senate Majority Leader and has held that office for longer than anybody else in the history of the Senate. This is Rand Paul’s idea of owning Mitch McConnell.

These two have internecine battles which occasionally go public. CNN:
Paul told CNN that McConnell never consulted with him before cutting a deal with Biden to name Chad Meredith to the post. [federal judge] And without Paul’s support, the White House said it wouldn’t name Meredith to the post since he lacked backing from home-state senators, relieving Democrats who were concerned with Meredith’s anti-abortion views.
“McConnell did whatever secret deal he did with the White House without talking to me,” Paul said Monday. “And so we simply said that we’re not against Meredith, but McConnell is going to at least discuss it with his other state senator.”
McConnell doesn’t consult with Paul because he doesn’t care what Paul thinks. That’s pretty plain. The story quoted above is from two years ago and then Rand Paul violated medical ethics just last year when he criticized the doctors who opined that McConnell’s “freezing episodes” (where he stared out into space for half a minute or more) were the result of “dehydration.” What does Rand Paul, an optometrist, know about internal medicine, geriatric medicine or a host of other disciplines that impact McConnell? Nada, is the answer.
Rand Paul is no spring chicken himself, but he attacks McConnell on the basis of age, just like he used to attack John McCain. Again, I marvel that the people of Kentucky keep electing Rand Paul, against their own interests and against the GOP’s interest as a whole. I think John McCain was right, “The [junior] senator from Kentucky works for Vladimir Putin.”

A rabid skunk has a more pleasant demeanor. Give me the addled turtle…actually I wouldn’t have a problem with either tied and dropped into an outhouse with the ass hole right over their heads. For you city slickers who have never had to brave an old wooden outhouse full of spiders and occasional varmints, or smelled it from ten yards on a summer day in the south…it’s quite daunting. I’m sure we can find one in ole Kentuck…somewhere in bumphuck holler. Growing up poor in the south one gets exposed to all sorts of cultural gems. They deserve a worse fate now that they’ve help destroy our democracy, but I’d settle for the outhouse. Throw a copperhead or two down the hole for good measure. You find justice where you can.

Mitchie didn’t need to consult Paul, and Paul felt left out. Actually I think Randy has delusions of becoming Majority Leader. There’s a small problem with that: He and Ted Cruz ate tied for Man Whom.the Other 98 Senators Would Most Like to See Dropped Into a Category 5 Hurricane.
Honestly,, I think the dentist living next door to Randy is a candidate for sainthood. I only wish he’d finished the job.
