Expect the headlines to be straight out of parody as the new/old Trump regime goes back to Washington. Elon Musk is not content to have purchased the United States presidency. He’s now looking to take over the world. He’s bankrolling Nigel Farange, one of Steve Bannon’s good buddies, in his quest for power in the UK. Musk is also in favor of the far right AfD party in Germany. That makes sense. The guy who ran into pedestrians at a German market, killing five people and injuring hundreds of others, is Talib A., who admires Musk and right-wing broadcasters like Alex Jones, is a member of that party according to Charlie Sykes.
Not content to have purchased the American presidency, the world’s richest man wants to extend his influence across the globe. Over the weekend, he pledged to make massive donations to Britian’s MAGA-manque, Nigel Farage.
But Musk dramatically upped the ante in his bid for Ubermensch-hood when he waded into the upcoming German election by calling Chancellor Olaf Scholz an “incompetent fool” and endorsing the country’s far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party.
“Only the AfD can save Germany,” President Musk posted on Xitter.
And who is AfD? Danke for asking. Here’s Adam Kinzinger:
Besides being anti-immigration and pro-Putin, among other things: “The AfD demands a ‘reversal’ of Holocaust remembrance in Germany, states that the Nazi Schutzstaffel were ‘not criminals’ and has memorialized Nazi leaders.” Via The Financial Times:

The world’s richest man has since doubled down. After Senator Chris Murphy ripped him for his coziness with the German far right, Musk Xeeted out:

The AfD policies are identical to those of the US Democratic Party when Obama took office! I don’t think there is a single difference.

A Neo-Nazi group has the same ideals as the Democratic party under Obama? “Without a single difference?” See, what has happened here is that Xitter and right-wing media lied so pyrotechnically during the presidential campaign (and it worked) that now they think they can sell any kind of insane shit and as long as they call it mousse au chocolat people will buy it and ingest it without thought or hesitation.
And get the irony here. The AfD is a clone of the Obama-era Democratic party — and Musk and Vance support that now? “Only the AfD can save Germany,” meaning only a clone of the Obama Democratic party can save Germany? Isn’t that fascinating?
They are just making it up on the fly, Musk, Vance, all of them. This is off the rails even for them.
When Trump was first elected, the German magazine Der Spiegel, compared him to Hitler. They knew what they were looking at. Substitute a reality TV game show for the beer halls of the 1930’s and only the trappings are a bit different due to the technology of the day. The character of both Trump and Hitler and the playbook is identical.
Musk won’t be happy until he owns the entire globe and we call the place Elon instead of Earth. Get ready for some choppy waters ahead. Even Trump is thinking twice about the genie he let out of the bottle but it’s too late now. Whatever part of Trump Putin doesn’t own, Musk does.
So Muskrat thinks he can take on the world? How, he’s not that rich, his net worth is under a trillion, and only near that due to stock manipulation. How much does he think actual countries are worth? No, no, not their yearly GDP, that’s like his yearly income. Even tiny countries like Monaco have billions in net worth, let alone small states like Vietnam, Venezuela or Slovakia. A trillion isn’t even the amount owing on student loans in the USA, (currently 1.6 trillion).
And countries can pass laws and arrest you and deprive you of liberty and fine you and tax you and seize your assets.
Maybe Biden can have him arrested for breaching the initial terms of his student visa?
Tread carefully Musk you’re out of the little billionaires club now, mixing with things much bigger and stronger than you are.

Agreed, but too late even if it were possible, that the DoJ should investigate his legitimacy as a legal immigrant. Very much disagree that, as only a billionaire, he is not as rich as some countries. He doesn’t have to be. He only has to inject sufficient funds in the right places to change the stability/direction of politics in whichever countries he chooses, Germany right now.
