Now I know where Nancy Mace belongs: on the Outer Limits. Think of it, we have an episode about a creature that feeds on attention. It has a mad compulsion to get on television as often as possible for any or for no reason at all. This being compels her staff to get her on television as much as humanly possible — and then she threatens defamation suits to anybody who crosses her, apparently not connecting the fact that that would tend to chill bookers from granting her the airtime she so fanatically craves.
Nancy Mace has gone into full blown MAGA fear mongering mode, especially designed to intimidate the press. And who can blame her? An offhand discussion that she had with George Stefanopolous ended up devolving into ABC News rolling over and settling a defamation lawsuit with Donald Trump for $15 million (and a million dollars in attorneys fees) when it was a case they could have easily won. Go figure. Everybody’s assumption is that ABC didn’t want “bad publicity” but the news is filled with nothing but that right now. So much for speaking truth to power.
Back to Nancy Mace, here’s her “truth” of the day and she sounds like a character out of early sixties sci fi. Look at the expression on the face of her host. Even he looks incredulous.
Are we still going to pretend that Congresswoman Nancy Mace is anything other than deeply unstable? I think she has gone way past the status of just being desperate for attention. I think she needs some help. pic.twitter.com/bb8mx8WUQk

Missing nuclear warhead, huh? Gee, how do those go missing? Don’t other countries keep an inventory of such things, or do they just throw them into planes willy nilly and then forget where the planes landed, crashed, or were forced down by beings from outside the universe?
Nancy Mace is beginning to sound like a Kilgore Trout character. Where is Kurt Vonnegut when we need him the most? Although in truth, the world nowadays has gotten so crazy that it tends to rival anything that Vonnegut ever dreamt up. In fact, reality might be a little too kooky for him, in the year 2024. Not to mention the next four years that we’re looking at, with mixed degrees of dread.
Leave it to Nancy Mace to insert herself in the top story of any given news cycle. I don’t know which theory I like the best, the careless Russians/Chinese/Iranians, who just can’t keep track of nuclear warheads, or the creatures from outside the universe. And where does outside the universe place us exactly? That might be beyond the scope of the Outer Limits, that might actually be the Twilight Zone.
Nancy Mace needs help. She’s the embodiment of that line in the movie, To Die For, “You’re nobody in America unless you’re on television.” And so we have come to see politics subsumed by photogenic bimbos (of both genders) on television. This is our culture now and Nancy Mace our avatar. May God help us.

Her comment about, “Being from out-side of the Universe”, is incredibly stupid for a number of reasons, first of all, to get outside of our Universe, would take gobs of years, the new telescope systems are now recording light images that started their journey to us, our tiny planet, MANY light-years away, a light-year is the distance light can travel at its maximum speed, which boggles the mind for sure …
Just getting to the outside of our own galaxy, will require a crew of robots, instead of mere mortal humans, unless we can invent and develop a perfect way to induce and protect human deep mental/physical sleep functions …
So, if the intelligence of an alien crew was involved why would they stoop to propeller driven drones when they have already invested hundreds of years getting here?
The sightings of past ufo’s where the crafts dodge at right-angle turns, while traveling at great speeds and do not seem to have any resistance from our atmosphere?
So many questions … so much ignorance … Well, they DID re-elect a fake, stupid person back into office …
The king of stupid requires his subjects be as corrupt and moronic as he is. I’m just glad I was not around her all the times I took hallucinogens. She’s outside all right. As the Who sang in Tommy: “sickness will surely take the mind where minds don’t usually go.” Yep.
Does anyone else find themselves wondering why, after Mace was “assaulted”, she is no longer wearing a sling or brace on her arm?
She has the same republican ‘miracle cure’ like Dimwit Donny had after the shooting, with his ear.
Fake miracle cures being easy to conjure up for fake injuries.
Ursula, I’ve long admired your writing, but your final sentences in this article are truly a sublime example of journalism at its finest: “And so we have come to see our politics subsumed by photogenic bimbos (of both genders) on television. This is our culture now and Nancy Mace our avatar. May God help us.”
Your words could well stand as a fitting, timeless epitaph for America.
True enough.
Nancy Mace’s opinion that the drones may be “from somewhere outside the universe,” reminds me of the old saying, “It takes one to know one.”
