It is unprecedented to see a presidential administration start to go belly up during the interregnum but that’s what we are indeed seeing. Two things of note happened today. It’s never a good idea to start a fight with your neighbors, particularly if they have goods and services that you desperately need. But of course Donald Trump doesn’t know how things work and how everything is interconnected. He lives in this fantasy of American isolationism which was ridiculous pre-WWI, when the notion was being heavily pushed, and is flat out undoable in today’s globalist economy. In any event, we are hearing from Canadian legislators and they are making no bones about the fact that if there has to be a trade war coming from Trump, that they will show him what’s what.
NEW: Ontario Conservative Premier Doug Ford says Canada is prepared to cut off energy supplies to the U.S. in response to Trump’s tariffs:
“We will go to the extent of cutting off their energy, going down to Michigan, going down to New York State, and over to Wisconsin. I don't… pic.twitter.com/w76PN0ksv2

My prediction is that Trump will back down. He’s the anti-Teddy Roosevelt. He doesn’t “speak softly and carry a big stick,” he bellows and carries nothing. He’s all mouth.
Now on to Trump’s second disaster for the day. He rang the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange after his TIME cover was released. At that time he was asked about his promise to “bring prices down and fast,” and he basically admitted that he didn’t have the first clue how to do so. “It’s hard to bring things down once they’re up. You know, it’s very hard.”
What, now? You can’t just wave a magic wand at inflation and it disappears? The hell you say. Really? A lot of people were not happy to hear this. At. All.
Sam Stein of The Bulwark and MSNBC noted via social media, “’Prices will come down,’ Trump told voters during a speech last week laying out his vision for a return to the White House. ‘You just watch: They’ll come down, and they’ll come down fast, not only with insurance, with everything.’”
It sounds a lot like COVID, does it not? “One day it will just disappear, like a miracle.” Right. 1.1 million Americans are no longer with us due to this idiot’s bungling of the pandemic. But the electorate forgot about that, apparently.
The President-elect told TIME he would “like to bring them down” when asked, “If the prices of groceries don’t come down, will your presidency be a failure?” but insisted if prices do not drop he doesn’t think that will make his second term a failure.
That sounds like COVID, too. Trump was not responsible for COVID or for how it was handled. And if he was responsible, well then he deserved an A+. Remember all that?
Stein’s post earlier Thursday morning quoting Trump saying “You know, it’s very hard” to bring prices down set of an explosion of anger at the incoming occupant of the White House.
“Trump has already folded on prices. He has no plans to make life more affordable for the majority of Americans,” declared Lindsay Owens, Ph.D., Executive Director of the Groundwork Collaborative.
“All of you idiots who voted for Trump over food prices should feel pretty stupid,” journalist Roland Martin remarked in response.
Politico White House reporter Adam Cancryn responded to Stein: “Trump in Asheville in August: ‘From the day I take the oath of office, we will rapidly drive prices down, and make America affordable again’ ‘Prices will come down. You just watch. They’ll come down and they’ll come down fast. Not only with insurance, with everything.’”
The Washington Post’s Aaron Blake added: “Trump on Sept. 23: ‘Vote Trump, and your incomes will soar. Your net worth will skyrocket. Your energy costs and grocery prices will come tumbling down.’”

it’s very hard? Trump can make an art of the deal with his billionaire corporations friends. It’s just that easy, quid pro quo & all that
‘At that time he was asked about his promise to “bring prices down and fast,” and he basically admitted that he didn’t have the first clue how to do so. “It’s hard to bring things down once they’re up. You know, it’s very hard.” ‘
And he says this after the election in which he promised, in August, before the election
‘From the day I take the oath of office, we will rapidly drive prices down, and make America affordable again’ ‘Prices will come down. You just watch. They’ll come down and they’ll come down fast. Not only with insurance, with everything.’
Hmm, do you think he lied?
What’s that cumulative total of his lies up to now?
Are we past 50,000 yet?
But why should he care, he just got voted back in by the most stupid electorate in the history of the world.
Lying works.
At least until even they realize it’s all bogus.
He’ll blame the democrats as usual.
I’m going to be interested to see how he does that. I know he’s going to blame Biden and Obama, I just can’t figure out the angle yet.
Who’s tallying thumbs DOWN for these readers’ comments? What, you don’t believe tRump lied? Did he open his mouth? Pretty sure he LIES EVERY TIME HE OPENS HIS CAKE FLAP!
His promises meant nothing to his voters. They all voted for him because he is a racist. What gall’s me are all the liberals that give the fascists excuses.
