Susie may not be dumb, but she’s also not strong enough to rein in Trump’s worst impulses, particularly now that he feels no need for adult supervision. What’s ahead is unadulterated chaos—the usual madness on steroids. She’s Trump’s Chief of Staff in waiting, but he’s already going around her. Elon has more authority than Wiles, and Trump will always do this to everyone in his orbit.
But not so fast. Elon is now wearing out his welcome at Mar-a-Lago. That’s not a good sign — or at least it wasn’t when Kari Lake wore out hers. She just went back to Arizona, lost another election, and while I don’t know if she tries to call Trump, I would venture to say that he doesn’t pick up the call if she does. Elon’s days may be numbered.

In true Donald Trump style, it could just be a quip. But it can sometimes be hard to know where the line is between Mr Trump’s off the cuff jokes and his true thoughts.

He has reportedly been at Mar-a-Lago “at all hours, sitting with Trump,” and joining several calls and meetings.
“He’s behaving as if he’s a co-president and making sure everyone knows it,” one of the people said of Mr Musk.
“And he’s sure taking lots of credit for the president’s victory.
“He’s trying to make President Trump feel indebted to him. And the president is indebted to no one,” this person added.
Elon will be the first to go the way of Scaramucci and look at Susie Wiles to take a back seat. The interesting question will be who Trump appoints as press secretary. It could be Alina Habba, which will be interesting since her “communication” style is to recite slogans and praise Trump, not to answer questions.
Trump is as sexist as he is racist and fascist. I for one never believed that Wiles would be anything more than a figurehead. The idea that Trump would accept a WOMAN telling him ‘No sir, that’s not a good idea’ is laughable. The only question in my mind is how long before she’s had enough and quits or does something to get herself fired. The way things are going it might not be long at all.
And having Musk in a room with Trump will never last. Two narcissist in the same room can’t ever work.
The funny thing is that Musk could buy the Trump Org and its assets for what to him would be tip money. Deep down inside Trump knows that and it eats away at him. Of course, he can lord his power over Musk but more than any other private citizen in the world Musk has serious contacts and influence with other countries and their leaders. He’s a foreign policy power in and unto himself. And despite his twitter/X craziness has more credibility with all those leaders than Trump. It’s an appalling thing but something that must be acknowledged. Musk won’t take kindly to Trump giving him the brush-off or playing a “I got what I needed from you now f**k off game”, much less allow Trump to HUMILIATE him. Especially publicly. If Elon decides to teach Trump a lesson Trump will long for that night when Obama spent a few minutes publicly roasting him at that WH Correspondent’s Dinner.
