If you didn’t have enough reason to vote for Kamala Harris, comes now – Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to say that Donald Trump has promised to hand him the nation’s healthcare network to run in his good judgment.. Evidently Trump believes that the only qualification for such a position is the support of those adverse to modern inoculations, public health, and medical research. Kennedy says that he will even run the Food and Drug Administration. Why? Great question.
Kennedy rose through the ranks of the actually relevant family members by pounding away against the COVID vaccine, a vaccine that no one forced on anyone, at least no more than any other job requirement. (It always amazed me, for generations everyone entering the U.S. military was inoculated against a dozen or more diseases, including the plague, without so much as a whisper of protest, all of it ending with the COVID vaccine). Kennedy came close to adding a third candidate variable into the race, one that would’ve disproportionately cut into Trump’s support. It is left to the discrimination of the reader to determine whether Kennedy got out of the race willingly or was “encouraged” by some in the Trump camp. Either way, the result is a man who believes it’s his mission to “make America healthy again” – as if it were once much more so.
According to CNN’s report:
“… Trump told him he’d oversee a vast public health portfolio if the former president returns to the White House, and added that he’d prioritize his agenda for “making America healthy.”
“The key that I think I’m – you know, that President Trump has promised me is – is control of the public health agencies, which are HHS and its sub-agencies, CDC, FDA, NIH and a few others, and then also the USDA, which is – which, you know, is key to making America healthy. Because we’ve got to get off of seed oils, and we’ve got to get off of pesticide intensive agriculture,” Kennedy said, according to video of the event obtained by CNN.
Not to nitpick but the key to making America healthy, whether again or not, is to expand medical care to all, especially well-baby care that slides into general pediatrics. It would be a great start at the very least.
So be sure, it is definitely possible that getting off seed oils and finding an alternative to pesticide intensive agriculture is a good – ney, great, thing. It is just way down on the list of things needing management to increase community health. One can have the best of intentions and yet without some kind of pest control the nation could quickly run into food scarcity which isn’t healthy for anyone. Try buying apples at $7.50 each.
Additionally, the CDC is the world’s most elite public health agency, whatever else one wants to say about its marriage to big pharma. People once died of diseases that are no longer readily in our vocabulary – chicken pox used to be a rite of passage, measles and mumps more deadly. No more. If one sets aside the carb fueled obesity, America has never been healthier. A universal exercise program would probably markedly improve health.
But so would putting people in charge who actually have experience running massive agencies with few common health goals. These people exist and when you find them, you set them loose with a mandate and then leave them alone. If Trump simply must have RFK Jr. doing something as a favor for dropping out, then name him “Health Czar” and let him run around giving his advice for those predisposed to listen.
But no. Meet your possible new head of Health and Human Services. He has never run any healthcare agency, nor does he have a medical background. But he does have an agenda, one that will run right up against some of the world’s leading experts in how to actually service human health. Who knows? They might agree with the need to get off certain oils, but then have to remind him of what it was like for kids to die all naturally of what are now fossilized diseases.
Donald Trump has promised to be a dictator for one day, signing God only knows how many executive orders that uproot the nation’s true north. Consider the consequences of handing our healthcare over in such a dynamic to a man with an agenda that involves uprooting modernity in pursuit of an ideal that isn’t ideal.
Anyone worth appointing would scream at Trump that no one person should be running all these agencies. They have different missions that encompass different oversight requiring a different approach. Bringing in someone with a unique focus and one agenda isn’t healthy for anyone.

So, just wow. Between Kennedy, and musk killing the economy, there won’t be any food which will take care of the obesity problem. And people will have to keep popping out babies to replace the ones that die of polio and other long eradicated diseases. So no need for abortion nor birth control. Boy, these magats have all this sewn up in a tight little ball, don’t they! Read on twit what the magats, who have been screaming about the cost of eggs and bread, say about muskrats plan to kill the economy for a couple of years. It’s going to be great they say! What morons. With apologies to regular, non magat morons.
BTW, Kennedy is still on the ballots in some states. Saw it on the news while at the gym. Only time I watch because unfortunately the tvs are on all day there. I wonder if that will pull some voters from orange menace. And will anyone write in Haley now that she has reminded them all that she’s still around?
What healthcare? According to trump (I have a healthcare plan and it will be better…of course he actually DOESN’T). According to johnson in the house-No Obamacare: they’re going for privatization of healthcare. Sounds to me like actual healthcare will be a pipe dream for everyone not having a household income of at least a few million dollars.
Just as an aside: shitty sheehy who is running against Senator Jon Tester ALSO wants to privatize healthcare. If you don’t know MT I will tell you this: privatizing healthcare, totally btw (including VA/medicare/medicaid) in this state means the VAST MAJORITY of hospitals will shutter which is what comes of stopping VA/medicare/medicaid to rural areas. This will close hospitals in a great swath from MT to the Dakotas, Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa, etc. Even in larger population states, the hospitals in the rural areas of those states will close.
I don’t know what to say but this: People! The republican/magat candidates are NOT doing ANYTHING for you unless it is hurting/killing you. And this goes 100 -fold for trump! Being the fools they are, valuing racism, bigotry, misogyny, etc. more than their own well-being, it is safe to assume they will ignore such warnings. This is a case not of sometimes you can’t fix stupid but one of you CAN’T fix stupid period.
🤪🤦♀️ Seed oils?! Is he f’ing kidding me?! A nutcase who doesn’t want me vaccinated against horrific diseases is gonna fight me on canola oil in my cooking?! My omegas are perfectly balanced, thank you, little Bobby. Don’t you have some roadkill to deal with?! 🤬💩🤪🤦♀️
I’d never heard the phrase “seed oil” so I had to do a search and it’s not just canola but also corn and soybean and sunflower and safflower oils as well (also cottonseed, grapeseed and rice bran oils that feature in the “hateful eight” seed oils).
And, apparently, the LEGITIMATE scientists (as opposed to the couch potato influencers whose scientific knowledge is about on par with your typical six-year old’s) would prefer people lessen their use of seed oils but not by completely eliminating them but rather by making them a lesser part of the overall diet by increasing more “whole foods” and foods using far less processing.
