Why John Kelly May Be Trump’s Downfall

The margins, the margins, the margins. How often have I been preaching the mantra. In an election this close, the two most critical tasks are the margins and turnout. Reaching that 3-5% of lazy knuckleheads that can’t put their own shoes on apparently, and convincing them, and then convincing your own motley crew to get to the high school gym.

But yesterday’s one-two combo of NY Times reporter Mike Schmidt’s taped interview with former Trump Chief of Staff John Kelly, where Kelly admits Trump reviled dead and wounded vets, and the article in The Atlantic which says that Trump wanted Nazi Generals like Hitler’s to carrier out his orders, the Trump- campaign is reeling. You can tell that by the freaked out response by every MAGA mouth that can find a microphone.

This is NOT what the Trump campaign wanted to be talking about in their closing argument to the country in the last days, simply because they can’t shape the narrative, and nobody believes Trump’s sh*t. But that’s where they are, and we’re already on Day 2 of media coverage with no end in sight.

Here’s why Kelly’s hurts the worst. If there’s one thing almost everybody in this country love, it’s our men and women in uniform. And we revere Gold Star families, who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Personally I strive to thank every uniform I see in public if I’m not interrupting. A man like Marine General John Kelly transcends politics and polarization. And the Traitor Tot campaign knows it.

Margins and motivation. And this particular El Pendejo ex Presidente scandal has the potential to move them both, and on both sides, with devastating effect for Il Douche.

The margins. Let’s be clear. There’s nothing in this story that’s going to take a die hard Traitor Tot supporter and send him screaming over to Kamala’s loving embrace. And it’s not going to change the mind of someone who has settled on Harris with this childish display of what an unfeeling ass Trump is. These aren’t the margins. But this is.

Look, if there’s one thing that everybody knows, it’s that Trump is a flaming *sshole. But we all know that there are waffle footed undecided voters out there that personally hate Trump, but delude themselves with the thought that they like his nonexistent policies, but they’re willing to hold their noses and pull the lever for Trump. The same thing goes for some soft GOP voters who were willing to give it one more go. This could easily be the bridge too far, and they simply stay home.

The same thing goes for motivation. On the Trump side, we’re talking about those weak Trump supporters who are deluding themselves with the peaceful thoughts of It’s all bluff and bullsh*t, he didn’t pull that sh*t the first time, and he won’t do it now. This doesn’t sound like bullsh*t, and properly presented may be the straw that breaks those camels backs.

It’s the reverse on the Harris side, There are self indulgent fools out there with a myriad of self serving reasons why they can’t vote for a woman, or a black woman, or Biden’s running mate, or whatever. They’re not going to vote for Traitor Tot, just stay home. But this overt Nazi bullsh*t, and flagrant disregard for our selfless troops may be that last nudge that gets them out to vote for Harris, reaslizing at this late date that Traitor tot is still a viable candidate who could pull this off.

And Harris wins the motivational battle hands down. This kind of character stench only makes it that much more difficult for whatever pathetic grassroots outreach Elon Husk has going to bring those reluctant GOP voters back into the fold. But on the Harris side, it only makes those shaky Harris voters more resolved to vote for Harris, and energetic Harris voters to do even more to keep this two legged stool from the Oval Office.

And one last thing. Let’s not forget the men and women of our military, in reality this whole thing is about them, and their proud predecessors. How many active duty service members and veterans who proudly took an oath to the Constitution want to take orders from the Peach Penguin, strutting around the Oval Office wearing a costume shop version of a third world Generalissimo’s uniform? Possibly have to either obey or defy orders to rough up or even shoot US citizens they swore to protect, on behalf of a man who thinks they’re suckers and losers? Especially if they’re dead?

This is breaking late, so don’t look for any sea changes in the polling. It won’t be there, we’re equally divided 48-48%. It will take place in that small 4% margin, which is unlikely to move the needle appreciably in the polls.

But here’s one thing you can look for that has nothing to do with polls. Watch the early voting numbers. A story like this is not going to have weak Trump supporters running to the polls in greater numbers. If there’s a sudden spike or surge, it’s almost certainly disgusted voters heading out to make sure Traitor Tot never again befouls the Resolute Desk. 13 days. Don’t touch that dial.
