Forewarned is forearmed. We do have to prepare for the immediate future. Either way, pundits tell us, there’s going to be a fight on our hands after Election Day. Now, let me frame this carefully: In point of fact, nobody knows how the election will turn out. Obviously. Nobody knew in 2016 or in 2020. 2016 was the surprise upset, 2020, there was an expectation that Trump would lose by a much greater margin than he did. So look at this situation realistically. The greater the margin by which Trump loses, he will look flat out stupid claiming, “Stolen election!” On the other hand, if he loses narrowly, then you can realistically expect it all to hit the fan. So watch this video with an open mind, because it is grounded in reality. But don’t forget this crucial fact: the more we Get Out The Vote, the more we can stave off this potential showdown. Or, if luck rolls with us, avoid it altogether.
If Kamala would win by 420 votes, let’s say, then Trump is going to look like the kvetching moron that he is, claiming a stolen election. If she would win by 276 or some such, look out, it will hit the fan. I don’t think Trump will be any more successful with the lawsuits he’s got in the works and would launch anew, in the event of a close election, but the damage was done in 2020.
Even though Trump’s very own cybersecurity expert, Christopher Krebs, declared the 2020 election to be “the most secure in American history,” Trump didn’t want to listen to him. He fired him. He sought to discredit him. That way he could go on with his fantasy of the stolen election.
And of course Mike Lindell showed up, with his Italian satellites and computer packets, the Hammer & Scorecard guy, Dennis Montgomery, and all the rest. Expect that or something along those lines to take place in 2024, too.
Because the way the battle lines are drawn, Trump does not want to admit defeat. For one thing, it cuts off his grifting pipeline. When he lost in 2020, the first thing he did was open the Election Defense Fund and millions of dollars poured in from MAGAs who believed that they could change history and get Trump “reinstated,” a concept which doesn’t exist in the Constitution, but that’s what the donation emails said, so pony up they did. Trump still needs that stream of income. Any stream of income that he can come up with. The past four years that he’s been out of office, his only income has been politics.
On the other hand, MAGA is likely running dry at this point and how much disappointment can you take before you decide to give up? With respect to MAGA, I don’t even want to hazard a guess. But we do have the Federal Elections Commissions records, and they tell us that GOP donations have been down.
But also bear in mind that when Trump loses and if it is by a sizeable margin, it is entirely possible that a lot of his GOP allies will desert him as the Nazis deserted Hitler when WWII ended. The Nuremberg trials were filled with Nazis who swore that they were never really Nazis, that they just went along to get along.
I would expect Mike Lee, Lindsey Graham, Tim Scott, a lot of Trump’s former adversaries who became his converts, to be the first to jump ship. After all, look at this pragmatically. The three people I named, and many more, have careers in politics. They want to stay in politics. If turning coat on Trump, on Fox News, Newsmax, RSBN, wherever, is what it takes to stay relevant and stay in office, expect to see them sing a different song when Trump is defeated.
I know how incredible that may sound now, but did you ever think that these three would move from their original anti-Trump position? Probably not. I know I didn’t, particularly with respect to Graham and Lee. Scott always impressed me as an opportunist, not so much the first two. In all events, let’s see what happens and who’s where, saying what, when all the dust settles November 5 or in the days thereafter. But particularly on November 5, if we have a decisive victory. That will take a lot of wind out of a great many sails.
Don’t think that the Republicans aren’t thinking this way themselves and figuring out a way to hedge their bets. The least that you can expect when Trump loses is a greater schism in the already Grand Canyon-esque gulf that exists between the remnants of the old school GOP and MAGA.
All I can do is to warn any pissant who comes my way either spouting nonsense or acting in a threatening way…best to treat me like a poisonous snake…leave me alone…or you may be bitten. I’m not under an illusion that treating you well will succeed in transforming you into a rational human being. Nope. I’m in survival mode as I was in the penitentiary…phuck with me and it WILL cost you. I expect these pinheads to show their collective asses if he loses. The country folks that raised me never tolerated tantrums. Show your ass and pain quickly followed. So don’t show up brandishing a weapon at my polling place. I’ll be tempted to disarm you and stick it up your fascist ass. In fact I can guarantee you will be sorry. Cowards. When I get around to running a popularity contest I’ll let you know. Until then this is a war and you are a phucking nazi on American soil.
My words to the magats who want a j-6 repeat is this: bring it on bitches. I have firearms out the ass, ditto ammo and the means to make more. I’ll do my damnedest to make sure D.C. law enforcement doesn’t suffer so much as a stubbed toe this time around.
And no, I do not expect the pubes in congress to behave in any way different when trump loses his ass-stupid people follow the same script time after time and they don’t get much dumber than the ‘pubes in congress. I expect them to break every law on the books so they can stay in power and get their idiot in power. They do not care about our nation. They do not honor the oaths they took to protect our Constitution. They only care about the perks of their power and their ability to make everyone’s lives miserable.
