Putin Rattling Nuclear Sabers To Help Trump, You Won’t Believe His Terms

It will be interesting to see how Vladimir Putin spins this one. You may recall his reverse psychology months ago when he said he was “voting for Joe Biden. He’s the most experienced.” (In a make believe scenario that he could vote.) That was considered to be a dog whistle to MAGA that if Putin is saying vote for Biden, it means that he’s terrified of the Mango Messiah, just another sign from heaven that we must rally the masses and get Trump back in the White House. And now, more reverse psychology. Trump, it goes without saying, will claim that the war in Ukraine would never have started if only he had been in office to protect America. And he will try to convince America that only he can forestall WWIII, which he keeps insisting is right around the corner. And Putin will sit there like the Cheshire cat and not say a word. Washington Post:

Russian President Vladimir Putin made a fresh nuclear threat against the West on Wednesday, indicating that any nation’s conventional attack on Russia that was supported by a nuclear power would be perceived as a joint attack.

Handwriting on the wall, blinking in neon. NATO neon, to be precise.

At a meeting with the Russian Security Council, Putin said that in light of an “emergence of new sources of military threats and risks for Russia and our allies,” specialists from the Russian Ministry of Defense and other government agencies had conducted a year-long, in-depth review of the country’s nuclear doctrine.

“The updated version of the document proposes that aggression against Russia by any non-nuclear-weapon state, but with the participation or support of a nuclear-weapon state, should be considered as a joint attack on the Russian Federation,” Putin told the council.

And then it gets scary. “He said the conditions for the launch of Russia’s nuclear weapons would be ‘reliable information about a massive launch of aerospace attack means and their crossing of our State border.'” Reliable? “Hello, Dimitri? It’s me. There’s been a little problem, Dimitri.” In this era of AI and fake news and social media, who can possibly ascertain the number of possibilities of how a false alarm could happen? I get dizzy even thinking about it. And we thought Dr. Strangelove was black comedy.

He added, “We reserve the right to use nuclear weapons in the event of aggression against Russia and Belarus as a member of the Union State.”

Yes, he’s always had that right, reserved or not. And he’s choosing to huff and puff and threaten to nuke our houses down. 40 days before the election. Please, America, don’t do anything stupid at the ballot box or we will be a Russian colony faster than you can say beef stroganoff.

  1. Putin’s actions are so pathetically transparent that it’s obvious he’s counting on abject stupidity amongst his perceived audience: MAGAts. He’s not going to influence nor frighten anyone having half a functioning brain. Trump’s his chosen puppet and NATO would obliterate Russia if, Lord forbid, it was ever necessary. Meanwhile the heroic Ukrainians are showing the whole world how to stand up to him, despite having to fight while severely hobbled by stupid, weak-kneed Western restrictions on weaponry. Vladimir will be dreading a Harris/Zelensky hookup.

  2. Someone with the US government should get out there and say, “So, this is how Putin wants the war to go: We get to invade Ukraine and bomb the country into servility with every single conventional weapon we’ve got but if Ukraine retaliates by launching ordinary weapons at us, we’re going to use nukes. This is how bullies always operate. Putin needs to remember that WE also have nukes and, if WE get the slightest hint that Russia launches even a single nuclear missile, we WILL nuke not just Moscow, but every single one of Vladimir’s personal homes across Russia. We KNOW where you live, Vlad. You don’t get to bomb Ukraine relentlessly and expect to get away with it.”
