I wish this was only about J.D. Vance being Weird again. However instead I need to try and let as many people as I can see him sit there and be vile. Despicable. Deplorable. Hateful. And HEARTLESS.
Vance who is after all a Senator from Ohio as well as Trump’s running mate has decided to for the first time engage in what to him are some specific Ohio ‘constituent services’ in the form of demonizing Haitian immigrants in Springfield Ohio. He by golly has decided to rid Springfield of all these (legal mind you) Haitian immigrants. He’s doubling and tripling down on bogus stories about them stealing people pets and killing and eating them. It’s been debunked but as you will see Vance claimed the debunking itself is ‘fake.’ He’s not about to let go of this. Even with bomb threats, no doubt from MAGAs closing down city hall, schools and so on.
Oh but it gets worse. A young boy was tragically killed in an auto accident. It WAS an accident. NOT murder as Vance/conservatives tried to claim. I can’t imagine the pain and suffering that boy’s parents have experienced but rather than being allowed to process their grief they’ve found themselves in an unexpected position. Their son’s death is being exploited for the GOP’s political gain. And they want no part of it. They asked for it to stop. It hasn’t. In fact, as you can see from this report from MSNBC the father of Aiden Clark has clearly had enough of J.D. Vance and the GOP and wants them to STFU so he and his wife can grieve in private:
“I wish that my son, Aiden Clark, was killed by a 60-year-old white man,” Nathan Clark said at a Springfield City Commission meeting on Tuesday. “I bet you never thought anyone would ever say something so blunt, but if that guy killed my 11-year-old son, the incessant group of hate-spewing people would leave us alone.”
That wasn’t all he had to say when he faced the cameras:
Nathan Clark on Tuesday criticized Republicans for using his son’s death “for political gain,” calling Vance, Trump, U.S. Senate candidate for Ohio Bernie Moreno and Texas Rep. Chip Roy “politically bankrupt.”
“I will listen to them one more time to hear their apologies,” Clark added. “To clear the air, my son, Aiden Clark, was not murdered. He was accidentally killed by an immigrant from Haiti. This tragedy is felt all over this community, this state, and even the nation. But don’t spin this towards hate.”
So there you have it. A heart-wrenching, heartfelt plea from a father (with the child’s mom looking on in agreement) saying please stop using my son as a political prop. Let us grieve for our son privately, and try to rebuild our world without the glare of a national political spotlight being shone on an ACCIDENT that took our son’s life, and trying to turn it into something worse. (FYI you will see Nathan Clark’s plea in the clip below) Ask yourself this: Do you think that for ONE SECOND J.D. Vance gives a sh*t about Aiden Clark or his parent’s wishes to not be part of an ugly political spectacle? Just kidding. We all know the answer which is OF COURSE NOT!
“Little people” like the Clarks are nothing more than critters to be exploited. Or couches to be screwed when he’s horny. He’ll by God exploit them any damn time he wants and don’t be surprised if Trump, not liking this pushback decides to sic MAGA Nation on these people. Hell, the Trump/Vance team already has Proud Boys and KKK in Springfield stirring up trouble. Don’t be surprised to see news soon that the Clarks have been forced from their home and into hiding.
Vance made it clear during an appearance on CNN’s State of the Union he’s NOT going to back down. Or even apologize and host Dana Bash gave him a chance to do so. Vance gave a variation on the “thoughts and prayers” bullshit we hear from conservatives after mass shootings. It had all the sincerity of some clerk at a cash register at the end of an eight hour shift saying ‘have a nice day’ because not doing so would get them fired.
However Vance was far from done. He went on to keep pushing his general ugly claims about immigrants. I swear even some of them being dragged from their homes and lynched or beaten to death with clubs wouldn’t shut him up. Hell, he’d probably cheer. Ok, maybe not go that far but he’d say they should have gone back to where they came from before they ‘got what they deserved.’ It is a truly gut-wrenchingly awful few minutes. See for yourself:
Imagine the nastiest, riddled with chunks of undigested ‘hamberders’ and burnt steak Trump ever shat out into his fake gold toilet and you have J.D. Vance. He says ‘Not only no but HELL NO to either apologizing or stopping exploiting eleven year old Adien Clark’s death. It was a giant F**K YOU to the boy’s parents. That folks is the Trump Republican Party. Much as I hated the thought of a RWNJ religious fanatic like Mike Pence a heartbeat away from the Presidency at least he would have backed off at this point. Or frankly long ago assuming he ever made such a claim as Vance started pushing in the first place. Then again, that’s part of why Pence hasn’t been there doing his ‘Nancy Reagan’s adoring stare at her Ronnie‘ gaze at Trump this go-round. Vance will at least give him a handjob, or rig a couch with a rubber glove if even Laura Loomer or Alina Habba have enough “Eeewww – NO WAY I’m f**king you’ self-respect when Trump is in the mood.
People who knew me prior to the rise of Trump in politics wonder what happened to the “Gentle Giant”/’Big Ole Teddy Bear easygoing man it took something truly extraordinary to provoke. How could THAT version of me turned into someone who could so openly hate? Trump and Trumpism happened. And Vance is a truly awful example of what it’s led to. There are tens of millions of average folks walking around in this country who are just as bad. We have a LOT of work to do. We HAVE to crush Trump and the GOP at the ballot box this November, and hope that finally the merely callous, mean-spirited ‘I just want my goddamned tax cuts and less regulations’ Republicans take that Party back over. Or form a new one.
We’ll never lose magas ’cause we agree with them on ish like DEI and other racist tropes. Racism as always worked to keep whites united enough. Just like it keeps our whites united with Ukrainians and Israelis.

Ohioans could have had Tim Ryan. Personally I’ve got some issues with the campaign Ryan ran but I figured since it was Ohio which became a pretty solid red state his economic protectionism platform was probably necessary. Still, even before being tapped as Trump’s VP pick I read a handful of articles expressing a sense of buyer’s remorse in OH for having gone with Vance. I wonder what his chances will be come 2028. Or will he be dipshit enough for forgo re-election to his Senate seat (especially if Ohio becomes less red or even pink) and mount a Presidential bid. Peter Theil might be asshole enough to put up the money. I have to say it would be fun to watch him flame out. First things first though. Denis, I am obsessed with getting rid of tRump. I hear you. But I learned an important life lesson from a woman I know whose 11 year old son was abducted less than a mile from their home by a man with a van. There was no trace of the boy for over thirty years. That woman told me that one important way she was able to cope was by locking her vision of that man in a box and never thinking of him. She said he took her son, but she wasn’t going to let him take anything else. Not her marriage or her family or her faith or her personality. Then she got a job with our state’s health department and went on to be nationally known for the work she did in the area of tracking and investigating childhood abductions. She was largely responsible for the creation of a national data base of childhood abductions so that law enforcement could find kids who had been transported over state lines (formerly a “black hole” for abducted kids because they were lost in the system). Previously, less than ten per cent of abducted children were found. Now that stat has flipped and more than ninety per cent are found. Her son, sadly, was located when a suspected perpetrator was arrested, tried and convicted on a separate case (using DNA and the nationwide network). The perp agreed as part of a sentence-lowering plea deal to confess to my friend’s son’s murder and tell where the body was: very near where he was abducted, in a shallow grave in a farm field. My point is, DON’T LET TRUMP CHANGE WHO YOU ARE! He’s not worth having that effect on you! You do SO MUCH GOOD with your sharp and comprehensive coverage of these a**hats, and you help ALL your readers in their dealing with what’s going on. I hear you. And I thank you for what you have to say. At the same time, I feel (and have for some nine years now) that my hate is the fuel that keeps me going. I’ve cried at times for not being able to be like the late, great John Lewis and lay it to rest. I hope someday I can honor him by doing so. But for me I keep reverting back to being a jarhead grunt. And see Trump as the enemy. No, I wouldn’t kill him because I want him to suffer for a few years in a prison cell before dying behind bars. But I’d take great delight in capturing him, and dragging his worthless ass towards my own lines and captivity, making sure to drag him over every rock or nasty object the whole way. And enjoying his cries for medical attention. LAUGHING at him. He deserves are worse. He deserves to die like my P.O.S. Klan grandfather – strapped naked and spread eagled on an inclined mattress with drain tubes running from every orifice of his body. And medically created ones in his abdomen. The only thing is that instead of being sedated to unconciouness near the end like my grandfather Trump wouldn’t be given one bit of pain meds. I honestly cannot argue with you. Big, sharp rocks would be great. I just wanted to say I place value on what you and the rest of the Politizoom team write, but I want y’all to be happy too. And I hope and pray we will soon be rid of trump. I still say he needs to be evaluated and tried as criminally insane. I’ve fantasized about that very fate for Trump at times. Locked away in some looney bin and forgotten even by most of his MAGAs. Out sight out of mind and all that. The rejection he’d feel would be worse than being jilted by the love of his life and publicly. Just imagine how he’d let himself go. He’d wind up looking and sounding like THIS guy in a couple of years:

For me it will take Trumpism/MAGA being reduced to what Hoover’s FBI did to the Klan when we were young. Scare them back to mostly staying in the shadows and hesitant to emerge. It’s a virus that like cockroaches can never be fully eradicated but with a LOT of hard, sustained work it can be reduced to manageable levels. If we can do that then yes, I can let my hatred die. Even though I will never again feel I can enjoy the pride of putting on a ballcap with the letters USMC on it. After several times of having people not quite close enough at first to mistake mine for a MAGA hat I threw both of the ones I had in the trash. Trump has taken in ways large and small and some of the wound will never heal.
