On Thursday the GOP nominee was on another one of his posting binges, logging in 43 “truths” before I stopped counting. Donald Trump was upset that Kuh MA luh’s campaign was going so well and all the attention was on her. Now the Nielsen ratings are out and he’s finding out just how much more of the attention was on her — except, if anything, Nielsen is lowballing the figure because so many of us were watching on our phones or streaming services. Harris/Walz knows how to pique Donald and this is certain to do it.

Yes, I hear it, too. The screams of FAKE NEWS!!! the ketchup bottles rattling as they cringe in the cupboards, trying to hide behind the soy sauce, the TV sets glowing one last moment before they fall off the wall and topple face down. All know the Wrath Of Don, particularly people who have had any experience with toddlers or mental patients.
Trump has terrific stories to tell, he just can’t remember which politician was with him in what helicopter that almost crashed or in what year, and if he doesn’t watch it, he’ll end up with yet another defamation suit. Willie Brown has had enough and I imagine that if you’re in your nineties and spent your life in politics your fuse would be justifiably short at his stage in the game.
One thing is dead certain: the year is not 2016. Nobody wants to go back to the Trump years. That’s why Kamala’s “We’re not going back!” slogan is resonating so much. That’s why Barack Obama’s comment about “the sequel’s always worse,” struck such a chord. That’s why Michelle Obama’s frank assessment about Trump “wanting people to fear us” hit home. People who are not MAGA are tired of the lies.
Even Republicans are tired but being Republicans, if there is one chance that their warped, twisted, inadequate candidate can win, they’ll sugarcoat and gaslight to the best of their abilities. Their unity has always been their strong suit. Now the Democrats are the ones displaying unity and look out.

I agree with this thought. Unity is indeed the kryptonite of tyranny. Only not the way this tweeter meant it. And once again I call your attention to the image of Trump and Kennedy, as if that’s the ticket. Who knows what machinations are taking place in Trump world as we speak? Could Trump:
- Be so disgusted with Vance that he sends him packing?
- Believe that Kennedy as his VP would do anything other than provide endless fodder for late night shows and comedians?
- Would Wiles and LaCivita approve of such an action this close to the election when ballots are being printed?
- A Walz/Vance debate is going to be memorable, can you imagine Walz/Kennedy?
Think about these things. Because this is what Trump is thinking about now and he doesn’t have any answers. He’s impulsive and he’s looking for a miracle. Kennedy is not it for sure. But an Alzheimers/Brainworm ticket would be one for the ages, you must admit.

I’ve worked on memory care units. Dementia does not go backwards either. It goes forward until the end, and by that time, people often can’t recognize their grown children or their spouse of 65 years. There’s no way this ends well.
I am honestly wondering how much of this is dementia and how much is Trump’s screwy personality. I can’t discern which is which. Maybe Mary Trump will write more on the subject, since she’s known Donald since he was a young man.
If you’ve been in the military, you’re vaccinated down one side and, depending on stations, up the other. Seewww. That would be a fun debate to see. Rational, evidence based thinking versus random crystal-healing roadkill recipes.
