Things have been relatively quiet in Trump world recently because the presumptive GOP nominee has been busy waiting for the mainstream media to chew up Joe Biden and spit him out, aided and abetted by none other than the hysteria mongers in the Democratic party. But we’re sticking by old Joe from Scranton. The mainstream media would love nothing more than to rip the man to shreds from now until November so that they can have a drama fest upon which to create clicks and engagement but unfortunately what they’ve got is a strong Democratic incumbent who is going to beat the GOP joke that he beat four years ago. That’s a little too dull for the MSM, so forgive them if they have to come up with high drama in order to spice the pot a bit. Here’s how things look this Sunday.

The best line I’ve ever read to describe Donald Trump’s third bash at being president was written by Maureen Dowd of the New York Times. I’ve quoted and paraphrased it on numerous occasions. She said, “A man is running again to run the country that he tried to overthrow when he ran it before because he’s running from the law.” That is it in a nutshell. It does not get any simpler than that. Other than to add, “And if elected, this time he will run it into the ground.” Now you have all the variations of the infinitive “to run” and the permutations of Trump, past, present, and future. Run, Donald, run, except not for president. Get in a plane, head to Belize or anyplace they don’t have an extradition treaty, and play golf. Your country will thank you, your current wife will be delighted, and all will be well. And look at this mental illness. This is MAGA, right here.

“Deportation saves the nation.” It’s pure Nazi rhetoric, hatred of The Other. And who is The Other. Well, that’s the problem. It brings to mind that famous poem, “First they came for the socialists, but I was not a socialist so I did nothing,” and what that boils down to is that eventually it will be your turn. Because it never stops. The purification of fascism always has several more levels down to go.
As to where Trump is today, he’s bleated a few all-caps posts, as is his wont to do. But they basically were incoherent. Nothing new about that, either.
Peter Baker was on TV earlier telling Jen Psaki that he had no idea what caused that blast into cyberspace. But clearly Trump feels the need to displace aggression. That much is evident. And it’s got something to do with the press. Maybe he’s upset that the hundreds of articles about how old and feeble Joe is haven’t done their job.
Less than four months, then we won’t have to listen to this imbecile. Or, maybe he and Steve Bannon will finally realize their dream from 2016 and create Trump TV. Maybe it will go the way of Truth Social and all the other great ideas that are now on the ash heap.

How much you wanna bet those protestors in Nashville were, just a few years ago, among the many protesting the need to wear masks to stop COVID?
Now, they’re gladly wearing masks to remain as anonymous as possible and not lose their jobs from employers who’d rather not be known for employing open racists.
