What is your major malfunction, numbnuts! Didn’t your mother hold you enough when you were a baby? Drill Sargent Hartmann Full Metal Jacket
And the quote above isn’t a bad start. What is it with you people, anyway? In 2020 you guys had to be dragged along kicking and screaming. Biden is too old, Biden is too moderate for today’s Democratic party, I dunno, he just doesn’t float my boat. News flash. Biden is running for President, not for shipbuilder. It isn’t his job to float your boat.
And then Biden got in, and all of a sudden y’all were looking for a fork for that humble pie. It turned out that while a moderate, Biden turned out to more progressive than most progressives ever dreamed he;d be. I have a simple answer for this shocking turn. The turn of the DNC and the Democratic caucuses in Congress to younger, more progressive leadership to please the base left Biden with little choice but to go along. It doesn’t matter if you blinkered dray horses see the truth or not, Biden’s record as President is solidly progressive.
And now Biden’s running for reelection, and y’all are putting the band back together. Biden isn’t progressive enough, he hasn’t done enough on the environment, he’s taking part in war crimes, and he’s too old! How do I love thee? Oh, let me count the ways?
- News Flash! Biden doesn’t write the laws, he only signs the laws. There’s a whole nother branch of government called the U.S. Congress that writes the bills for him to sign. And Biden went as far as he could with his agenda with his razor thin margin, especially with the House Progressive caucus pushing him further left, but two Democratic turncoat senators ready to scuttle anything they didn’t like;
- Biden didn’t do enough on the environment. Bullsh*t. Again, he was limited as what he could pass by the Congress, but by executive action he order he almost singlehandedly brought the U.S. into compliance with our voluntary pledge at the Paris Accord. Sorry you didn’t get those crushed nuts on your sundae;
- Yeah. Biden and this debacle in Gaza. Listen, I’m right there with ya. I have been screaming for Biden to cut off offensive weapons for Israel since December. I’m glad that he put that hold on the last shipment of arms, but no, I don’t think it’s enough. But you have to realize that there’s a thing out there called Realpolotik. And if Biden weakens Israel’s security too much, he emboldens bad actors like Syria, Hezbollah and Iran to take a poke at them and try to wipe them off the map. The world just isn’t as neat and simple as you’d like.
But now for the same old liberal bedwetter nightmare scenario. Biden is too old! Puh-lease! Right now we have two GOP senators that are older than Biden, and nobody’s giving them a ration of sh*t. And we just lost a Democratic senator who was older than Biden would be when he left office at the end of his second term.
I’m 13 years younger than Biden, but I’m half winded when I get to the bottom of my 15 step stairs at the apartment. Biden jogs down the steps of Air Force 1, while Trump needed to hold British Prime Minister Theresa May’s hand to go down the staircase in the White House. Biden still rides a mountain bike on the weekends while His Lowness pootles around in a golf cart.
And I have no doubt about his mental awareness. Just look at Biden’s barn burning SOTU speech, and every other speech since then. He is coherent, and follows the teleprompter almost flawlessly. They put Trump on a teleprompter, and he can’t complete two sentences before losing his place and meandering off into the wilderness.
But here’s the McGuffin. Let’s just say that the worst happens in Biden’s second term, and he becomes incapacitated. What happens then? Does House Squeaker Mike Johnson become President? Of course not! Vice President Kamala Harris becomes President, someone more comfortable with the farther left progressive agenda than Biden ever was. What more are you looking for than progressive stability?
Look guys, this choice really isn’t that hard. The future is yours. The party is becoming younger and more progressive. Meanwhile, the GOP is imploding, and if Trump loses in November, they’ll spend more time in the wilderness than The Fuqawi tribe. You cheered when then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi reached an agreement to serve two more terms as Speaker, while infusing the party leadership with the young guns. How is this different? A second Biden term is nothing more or less than the final changing of the guard to a younger, more progressive party. Suck it up, put your big boy pants ion, and save democracy one more time. The future is yours.
I thank you for the privilege of your time.

Good points Murf. Heard a caller into Thom Hartmann’s show, who, as a progressive, caring person, basically tried to say both Biden and Trump were the same concerning the genocide in Gaza. Thom agreed that Biden could possibly do more, BUT there was a vast difference. Biden has tried diplomacy to reign in the murderous dictator in Israel, and has advocated for a two state solution. He has withheld some weapons and, given Israel has been our ally, the situation is complex. Trump would give Netanyahu a green light to ‘finish the job’, AS HE SAID. Unless some on our side SMARTEN UP and GET REAL ABOUT THE PHUCKING WORLD, we remain in danger. Netanyahu needs to keep the war going to stay out of jail. It chaps my ass to hear people swallow the propaganda from the gop. Thanks for keeping the truth out there.
To some it might seem quibbling, but the Marine Corps doesn’t have Drill Sergeants. We have Drill INSTRUCTORS. Other than that I am with you on all the points you made. I knew when I voted for him in 2008 that Obama wasn’t going to be nearly as progressive as I wanted him to be and so many Democrats assumed he would. Frankly, with Biden I assumed we’d get more Obama type stuff done but dayum – if not a liberal’s wet-dream President he’s done an awful lot to love and as you note it was only some asshole Senate Democrats that kept him from doing damned near everything the progressive wing of the Party wanted.
“Biden is too old! Puh-lease! Right now we have two GOP senators that are older than Biden, and nobody’s giving them a ration of sh*t. And we just lost a Democratic senator who was older than Biden would be when he left office at the end of his second term.”
We’ve also got a very beloved far-left Independent Senator from Vermont (who ran twice to be the DEMOCRATIC nominee for President–without ever taking any step to BECOME a Democrat at any point) who is actually 10 months OLDER than the President (and he was 10 months older than Biden back in 2020 when he tried for his second run for the Democratic nomination–funny how NO ONE was arguing about his age then) and I have no illusions that the same “progressives” who whine about Biden’s age would have zero issues with Bernie Sanders’ age if he had thrown his hat into the ring for a third run at the White House.
And, incidentally, Sanders is running to keep his Senate seat this year. If he wins re-election, he will be 83 on Election Day and he will be 89 when his next term expires. Joe Biden, on the other hand will still be 81 on Election Day and 82 when he reaffirms his Presidential Oath of Office and 86 when his next term expires. Again–where is the focus on BERNIE’S age by all these “concerned” individuals?
For anyone whining about Biden’s ‘failings’.
Look at the alternative.
You have two choices.
Choose one.
Well said Joseph. Well said. Applause!
