Donald Trump is in Dallas at the NRA convention. He took stage a short while ago (after being two hours, 15 minutes late). The announcer is clearly getting hoarse. He wasn’t expecting having to speak for this long. In any event, when Trump finally got to the podium he recounted a conversation that he had when he was in the White House and *Dr.* Ronny Jackson examined him. Here’s what he asked the *doctor* and what the *doctor* said.

I don’t think so, Donald. The Black man is the better man. I know it kills you to hear that, but in this case it’s true. And Donald’s not having a good time on other fronts. He’s being attacked by a “brutal” fly. Maybe the same one that sat on Mike Pence’s head? Hey, Donald, the fly is Black, make friends with it. Also, when was the last time you put on a clean diaper? Maybe that’s why the fly is there.

And here’s a racist crack, right out of the gate. But the Latinos vote for this man? What is that, self loathing?

 

This is disgusting. He’s comparing Mark Robinson to Martin Luther King. My God.

And you need to see this bootlicking by Gregg Abbott. I have been privy to conversations on Twitter about who’s the worst governor in the U.S. It’s usually a dead heat between Ron DeSantis and Gregg Abbott, but I think Abbott takes it.

Here’s more of Trump talking about himself. What else is there, right? Here he’s trashing the network anchors who will moderate the debate(s).

Maybe his Uncle was screwing his mom and that’s where the great genes came from. Or, I guess Fred Trump had the same great genes as his brother. Or maybe both? Trump is unglued today, he doesn’t even know what he’s saying.

Interesting projection there. Because he’s old and tired and bored, he assumes that everybody else is. No, a lot of people of all ages are very engaged on a lovely spring Saturday. There is everything to do, outdoor recreation, tending a garden, bar-b-queing, I could go on and on. But for Trump, he falls asleep in front of the TV.

That’s where it gets scary. Trump plans to die in office if he can just get back there. That’s it for the moment. If Trump says anything else particularly noteworthy, we will document it here but so far it’s just rambling to the cult, same old same old. No policies, no platform, no vision, just the charismatic leader talking to his cult.

    • I am so glad to see you, Scott. I haven’t seen one of your comments in a while and I was wondering if you were okay. Trump is by definition a “charismatic cult leader” as Charlie Manson was. Or Jim Jones. Or Adolf Hitler. You don’t need to be worth a shit to be charismatic, merely have something that compels a certain kind of *mind* to follow you. David Koresh also comes to mind.

Just been dealing with ‘the struggle for the legal tender’ as Jackson Browne says in The Pretender…As I approach 71 living in an expensive area of the triangle, meeting the rising rent etc. is a constant challenge. I still read your articles, along with some others, to keep up with the ongoing madness. In the song, Jackson states ‘he started out so young and strong, only to surrender. I guess I’m too stubborn to surrender. Ha. Glad your blog is still keeping up with the slow slide into possible fascism. I still can’t believe it at times. I don’t think I can completely relax until we pass this test in November. Keep up the fight! You and the posters here are a comfort just to know there ARE sane people walking around. As Laslo said to Rick in Casablanca, ‘welcome to the fight. I’m sure our side will win’.

        • Blogging has been the beginning of many beautiful friendships for me. That’s the truth. It’s an unexpected gift of having the need to write about all this madness so that my head doesn’t explode.

          Good luck with work. I’m 71 now and yes, the bills keep coming. And I lost everything when I became disabled, so it’s not like I’m sitting on a fat nest egg like so many of my peers. But no complaints. I’ll get by. I know you will, too.

    • I question whether he has ever known what to say. He has always had a very sub-par I.Q. This dementia merely makes it very clear-he is unfit to walk my dog let alone run the country. That was clear to me when he starting mulling a prez bid back in 2012. I could not believe nobody talked him out of it in 2015 because he has been, bar none, the biggest f*cking embarrassment this country has ever seen. That this was displayed to the entire planet is something I don’t think anyone with sense will ever get over.

      You ever have those moments when you think of something you did or that happened to you in the past and you’re embarrassed all over again (never mind it might have been 50 years ago)? That is going to be us. Americans are going to look back and like so many things this country has done they’ll be saying “what in the f*ck were they thinking?” Or maybe they’ll think there was a massive outbreak of drug use causing mass psychosis.

    • Money. And the hope of making a name for themselves enough to run for higher office or get hired by a lobbying office. Some people are hookers, even if they’re just renting out their minds instead of their bodies.
      That’s or they never had a soul so even the devil isn’t interested in a,trade off.

    THESE are times that power AND CASH means control of the country in general …
    The biggest names, like the, Koch Brothers have too much money to count, are ALWAYS involved it politics, because the lawmakers in Congress can break the KOCH’S out of restrictions, that can lead to their enormous fines they have to pay because their factories and paper businesses provide huge problems with pollution, which they never fix, because with multiple billions of income, each brother can pay a million here and there no problem, it’s just annoying to have to write the checks …

    So, it’s pretty simple, we the honest people ALWAYS exist at a much different level than the billionaires … Our votes are our precious possessions, use it wisely, ignore the ancient rhetoric and examples of just plain stupidity Trump has shown …

    The quality of his deliveries shows a giant swing to strokes, heart failure and other possibilities, if not just a drop to the floor with total exhaustion that could take away court battles and hopeful presidential futures … recoveries from total exhaustion can take months or even a year … VOTE BIDEN, The only right way to stop Trump …
