This makes complete sense instinctively. The other night when it was announced that 18-year-old Barron Trump was entering the political arena and would be a delegate at the Republican National Convention this July, people were aghast. Seriously? Melania is allowing this? She’s letting Barron play Daniel and walk into the lion’s den? If you were one of the people who had that reaction, your spidey sense was right.

The obvious question is what happened? Somebody made the decision to nominate Barron, somebody made the decision to let the story roll, and clearly Melania made the decision to walk it all back. Man, does Donald look stupid.
This is a theory that fits the facts: when Barron got a load of “he’s no longer off limits” Melania decided that she wasn’t going to let that happen. So here’s my theory of what happened:
- Lara or somebody decided that what with the trial and all, that Trump’s youngest son entering politics to back him would be an asset;
- Obviously nobody asked Melania, as hard as that is to believe;
- Barron went along with it and the press started up;
- Melania decided to pull the plug;
- Trump looks incredibly stupid after Friday’s Telemundo interview where he was oohing and aahing over his “17-year-old” son serving as a delegate.
- There is no communication in this family. This is a biological unit only.
I’m also glad that things are back to *normal* now. I was truly flabbergasted when it was announced that Barron was going into politics. All systems went into tilt. It seemed so ill advised. This makes a lot of sense.
The only thing that doesn’t make sense is that it appeared that Melania was consulted first and apparently she wasn’t. Or, here’s a curveball: maybe she was too naive to realize that Barron would take heat once he got into politics. But I can’t believe she would be that naive.
Also, this is just another sign of how Melania does not support Donald at all. Here’s an alternative theory: is it possible that Melania did go along with this but then Barron confided in her he really didn’t want to do any of this? That’s also a conceivable option.
Personally, I really DON’T care, do you? In, or out, who gives a rat’s a$$ about the orange turd’s spawn?

Funny. I’m all alone and just laughed out loud. I forgot about that unit of time. We need a definition of a “Scaramucci”. Femtosecond? nanosecond? Picosecond” C’mon, we gotta have SOMETHING!
How he got on the delegate list and why he’s now off are separate matters. It’s possible and even likely Melania was never asked beforehand. Maybe not even Barron. Either way once the announcement was made it took more time than I expected for the plug to be pulled if that’s how it went down. Barron has been shielded and probably his initial reaction was “why not? It could be fun.” We were all that age once upon a time and we didn’t always think things through. Another possibility is that Melania was left out of the loop and Don Jr. came to him and tried to play big brother. Said it would be awesome fun, and Kymberly would help him make sure Barron’s room had a bevy of hot, willing babes he could cavort with. NOT redneck MAGA gals from the rallies but “Bikini Girl” (the new RNC spox). Not many 18 year old guys, especially one with a helicopter mom would say no to that. Or perhaps Tiffany did a little scheming. With once wannabe princess Ivanka wanting to leave Trump World and even the Trump Org behind, and Fredo 1 & 2 both being doofuses she had developed delusions of grandeur about taking over the Trump Org. Barron would be a threat since he’s a guy. Tossing him into the spotlight when he’s almost certainly not prepared to handle it would tarnish him in Trump’s eyes and clear decks for her!
However it came about, it ended I’m sure for the reason you and other suggested just as I’d strongly suspected might happen. Barron (and his mom too) got just a tiny taste of what was in store for him. It was one thing to see suggestions on the news and social media the night of the big announcement, but I’m betting quite another to have even a small gaggle on public property at the gate of Barron’s tony private school (graduation hasn’t happened yet) shouting questions at him already. Maybe even a few “Fair Game Now Barron!” signs. I know if I lived down there I’d have made one and found someone to give me a ride to hold one up outside his school!
The interesting thing to watch for is whether the announcement he’s not getting involved after all is too late. Today might well have been already too late to stuff the shit back into the goose.
I generally do not credit Melania with having much sense. This I must say: she looks out for that boy of hers. I can see why she’d want him off of that delegate list-no sense starting his adult life with supporting a loser like his father. Too bad she didn’t get wind of this sooner as perhaps it would have kept him somewhat out of the media shit-show. I’ve never considered candidate progeny to be fair game in the media until they knowingly decide to put themselves in the spotlight. The smart kids keep themselves out of it for as long as possible.
