Politics is an amazing profession. Truly it is. There is probably no other profession, in this era of Trump, certainly, which has such a variety of skills levels amongst its members. Generally speaking, a House speaker is a man or woman of considerable political experience and skill. Certainly that was the case with Nancy Pelosi and her Democratic predecessors. And on the other side of the aisle, people who held the gavel for any length of time were pragmatists who understood politics. I’m no fan of Newt Gingrich but I feel safe saying that he would not have caused himself the embarrassment that Mike Johnson caused himself today in the House. Gingrich would have read the room, read the tea leaves, talked with Mitch and a few others and gone a different direction.
As you have heard, the impeachment of Alejandro Mayorkas is no more. It went down in flames today when Reps. Ken Buck (Colo.), Mike Gallagher (Wisc.) and Tom McClintock (Calif.) joined with the Democrats. Another rep in Utah voted no on procedural grounds.
So what is the net effect of this latest debacle? First of all, it makes the MAGA contingent of the House look like the fools they are. Secondly, oh noes, it has deprived Marjorie Taylor Greene of a chance to strut her stuff as one of eleven impeachment managers.
Marge is crushed. Yes, this is the same Marge that House Democrats and 11 Republicans voted to strip of her committee assignments back when she was pushing 9/11 conspiracy theories and talking about Jewish space lasers setting fire to forests. Being an impeachment manager was to be her comeback. Go watch Sunset Boulevard, Marge, and see how those things go. Business Insider:
Kevin McCarthy’s rise to the House speakership offered Greene another chance. Her committee assignments were restored and she became a key liaison to some conservative lawmakers. Still, she grated on some of her colleagues for actions like showing nude photos of Hunter Biden during a House hearing. McCarthy’s ouster led to Greene returning to some of her rebel roots. She lashed out at the eight GOP lawmakers, who in November joined Democrats to punt her push to impeach Mayorkas.
On Monday, Greene spent part of the day fighting with Rep. Jim McGovern, the top Democrat on the House rules committee. She bizarrely accused McGovern of putting his suit jacket on the bathroom floor.
“No idea what you’re talking about… what are you doing in the men’s bathroom aren’t you late for a klan meeting?” McGovern responded on X, formerly known as Twitter.
The other impeachment managers would be: Rep. Mark Green, the chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee,; Rep. Mike McCaul of Texas, chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, Rep. Andy Biggs of Arizona, Rep. Clay Higgins Lousiana, Rep. Ben Cline of Virginia, Rep. Michael Guest of Mississippi, Rep. Andrew Garbarino of New York, Rep. August Pfluger of Texas, Rep. Harriet Hageman of Wyoming, and Rep. Laurel Lee of Florida.
Yes, I know, that’s some all-star cast. And Marge was having a lousy day to begin with.
Political theater has always been with us. But the smart practitioners of the art know when to hold ’em, known when to fold ’em, know when to walk away and know when to run. Marge just knows when to run. She’s got a ways to go before she really becomes an expert at this. And if she’s got a lick of street smarts, she’ll go attempt to learn from somebody other than Mike Johnson. He’s got less ability for politics than she does.

When is the FBI gonna investigate her for planting pipe bombs?
When I saw she’d wrangled a slot as one of the (intended) Managers I instantly thought of the video we’d see of her unleashing her crazy in the Senate and the social media fallout that would ensue. And thought it was a classic case of “be careful what you wish for.” She doesn’t know how lucky she is. Of course, phone lines are burning up with not at al veiled threats tonight because Johnson preserved the chance for a do-over vote. And Scalise is supposed to be back tomorrow but if those who voted no stand firm that will still leave GOPers one vote short. And who knows? Some of those “moderate” GOPers in Biden districts (I saw NY Gov. Hochel on TV today and she said she’s letting them know their feet will be held to the fire if they let Trump lead them around by the nose) might grow a bit of spine and vote no. Now THAT would be freaking hilarious. Holding another vote and failing by MORE than today. Ok, so I have weird fantasies but admit it – you like this one!
A. Short of entering the men’s room, or having a friend who takes an unnatural interest in where clothes are placed, how would she even know this? I am presuming he did not smell of urine or feces because surely if he did the entire chamber would ask him to change his suit.
B. WTF difference does it make where ANYONE puts their jacket (suit or otherwise)?
I’d ask if she realizes just how f*cking stupid she is but then I’d be lacking a bit of sense. Bobo, Marjie, Comer, etc. must be America’s answer to Britain’s Loony Party. When are they going to put forth a Lord Buckethead? Seriously man, they might as well, shit can’t get any more moronic than it is right now in the g.o.p.
And no one complained of the stench on Margie and Bobo from having their heads so far up Trump’s ass? Projecting again.
That’s a scathing in-dicked-ment of Marjorie Trailer Queen.
