The Trumpkins are tripping over their own shoelaces with this one. Kayleigh McEnany was upset the other day because a “week” Joe Biden wasn’t giving Trump’s Operation Warp Speed enough credit for the availability of vaccines, forget that the breakthrough happened in Germany. Then last night Trump went on Fox News, to provide some kind of right-wing counter programming to Joe Biden’s press conference, apparently, and here’s what he had to say about his own spectacular COVID-19 endeavors.

“I don’t understand why they don’t give me credit for wonderful things. I mean, did anybody else but me come up with bleach and light bulbs as a cure for coronavirus? No. Nobody else in the world. I mean, so what that I stonewalled the top guy in the field and made his life hell, delayed everything? And so what another country developed the vaccine? I swooped in to take credit and I should have it, I was president, not them, it would help my ratings, and they won’t give it to me. Can anybody tell me why? Not fair.”

The true tragedy of this is that there are tens of thousands of people who wouldn’t be dead now if this clown had gotten on top of things when he should have — and he has zero awareness of that, let alone remorse. That’s the tragedy.

  1. It sounds good to me but I’d like reassurance about what federal legal standards would still hold sway over the state elections. Would this affect them? Otherwise the states could do whatever the hell they want in the areas of voter suppression, gerrymandering, you name it.
