Cover your own a$$ first is the watchword of the world and Clarence Thomas just demonstrated that. He’s taking care of number one and former law clerk (and Ginni Thomas BFF) John Eastman can go pound sand. Color Eastman gone. Clarence Thomas didn’t play Obi Wan to Eastman so he has no more hope. The Supreme Court on Monday denied an effort by lawyer John Eastman to appeal a ruling that found he may have acted criminally with the legal advice he gave former President Trump. It spurred a rare recusal from Justice Clarence Thomas, whose wife corresponded with the California attorney in the weeks ahead of Jan. 6.
A federal judge in California found Eastman as well as Trump “more likely than not” engaged in criminal conduct in hatching a plan for the former president to stay in power after losing the 2020 election, including in a memo that urged then-Vice President Mike Pence to buck his ceremonial duties to certify the election results Jan. 6, 2021.
I realized my foot wasn’t hurting much as I saw the headline – which made me think I was having a dream. Thomas recusing? Naw. No effing way. But I had to stand up to go tend to something and when I sat back down to read your article I accepted that I’m experiencing actual reality. Other reminders are there. Yes, the news still is that our (for the most part) Trump supporting Ryder Cup team did in fact get their asses handed to them over in Rome (funny how conservatives RIPPED on our women’s world cup team but crickets over so many guys who’ve played rounds with Trump & even said nice things about him got whupped in golf’s biggest international event), the news is still going on Cubs Manager David Ross might be fired due to my Cubs collapsing (again) and missing the post season (again) so yes, the world does seem to be functioning. Especially with Trump being in court and being pissy about it.
I view this recusal as Thomas and his wife being scared. Ginni is in this up to her eyeballs and they can claim all they want she and Clarence never discussed all the goings on but we all know that’s bullshit. Clarence knew EVERYTHING. At this point he’s probably begging McConnell for turtle lessons.
The only thing that is surprising me (so far) is that The Donald has kept his big yap shut inside the court – I wonder how long it will last before he throws a tantrum in front of the judge?
I look for Trump to throw people under the bus. Not to get out of trouble per say. But to say these people do this why can’t I. Not getting it he’s confessing and hanging the other people.
