Politics can be a real mother sometimes and Greg Abbott is no doubt thinking that very thing right now. A group called Mothers Against Greg Abbott has formed and they are not out for blood, no, they’re quite the opposite. They’re out to stop blood. They’re tired of children being killed.

They’re also tired of Abbott’s stance on trans kids and their parents and the black moms are not real crazy about revisionist history.

Hell hath no fury, Greg. If you don’t know that, you’re about to find out.

As if Abbott wasn’t knee deep already, he had so little class as to attend exactly none of the Uvalde kids funerals. I guess he was too busy scripting out his next photo op to the border with Fox News. Chron Houston News:

In a Monday interview with MSNBC, state Sen. Roland Gutierrez, who represents Uvalde, criticized Abbott for not returning to the South Texas town, and alleged that Abbott has not been back since May 29 when President Joe Biden also visited a public vigil in Uvalde, rather than June 5 as the governor’s schedule suggests.

“I don’t want this to sound like some political assault on him, but at the end of the day he hasn’t been there since Day 5, when the president came… We had a failed response on giving resources to families,” Gutierrez said. “He did not go to one single funeral—and quite honestly, many of the families didn’t want him there.”

Gutierrez’s statements align with recent statements from some of the shooting victims’ families. During a July 13 news conference, Angel Garza, father of 10-year-old victim Amerie Jo Garza, alleged that “since this happened, Gov. Abbott has yet to reach out.” Garza added that Sen. Ted Cruz, who also attended some prayer vigils for victims, similarly failed to reach out to victims’ families.

I don’t know about you, but this smells like political death to me.  Two of the most recent polls show Abbott’s lead over Beto O’Rourke has dwindled to 5% and 6%. That’s good, but if he loses a couple of more points then it goes into the realm of statistical probability and then Abbott might be toast.

Yeah, Greg, it’s going to be a long, hot summer. And the folks who can’t turn on the A/C are thinking of you and shall we say, not fondly?

  1. We’re not looking at this from sweaty teddy and the ass-hole governor of texass: if they had showed up at any of the funerals or reached out to any of the victims’ families they would be seen for exactly what they are–hypocrites. And spineless ones at that.

I hope for once Texans pull their heads out of the asses and get rid of these blithering idiots.

  2. If going through hots summers and freezing winter hasn’t stopped them from voting red, I’m not going to guess what will change their minds children dying will not. What are they drinking?
