Shades of Perry Mason. You don’t see this everyday. Kyle Rittenhouse was asked to describe the scene leading up to his shooting three people, two of whom died, in Kenosha, Wisconsin during the George Floyd protests. He came unglued emotionally.

This is why this is key: Rittenhouse is claiming self-defense. Every legal expert who has weighed in on this case has said that the case hinges on whether he’s able to convince the jury that he did in fact fear for his safety or his life. His testimony of what happened step by step and what went through his mind when he pulled the trigger — I should say “each time” he pulled the trigger — is the entire case.

He may have just blown it. I’m certain that there is a script he was given and which he rehearsed, but this is showtime and it doesn’t look like he’s going to pull it off. That’s just opinion. I never believed his self-defense bull pucky when it was first published. And I don’t believe it now.

Let’s see what he does with the rest of his testimony when it resumes.

Another interesting development was the testimony of Jacob Marshall, who was the roommate to Gaige Grosskruetz, who was shot in the bicep by Rittenhouse, while Joseph Rosenbaum and Anthony Huber were killed. Marshall posted on social media about Grosskruetz, “His only regret was not killing the kid [Rittenhouse] and hesitating to pull the gun before emptying the entire mag into him.” Marshall admitted on the witness stand that was a lie and Grosskruetz never said it.

  1. He came armed!! He wasn’t defending himself. Rinse and repeat – he camed armed with an AR15 type assault weapon. The witness who had his gun pointing at KR was defending himself and still GOT SHOT.

  2. I didn’t tune in until the recess taking place after “Rathouse’s” emotional “breakdown.” How many times was he the guest of honor and partying it up (with social media documentation) with people contributing to his defense or touting him as a hero?

IF this kid was truly overcome with emotion it was the realization that he was actually in court, and that he was going to have to deal with a prosecutor who views him as the white privilege entitled little prick he was and still is having a chance to expose him for what he really is and was on that tragic night. He was a fucking punk with Rambo fantasies.

And people are dead because of it.

He knew it was illegal for him to own that assault weapon, and to carry it in public even in Wisconsin. He even admitted on the stand that he got the notice that he should get off the street. But he stayed. With a weapon specifically designed to kill other human beings quickly and efficiently. He knew goddamned good and well what that weapon was/is capable of. He figured, correctly as it turns out that the police wouldn’t do jack shit to him, and that even if later on he was charged with any crimes that the “justice” system would extend every bit of white privilege it could to him.

What I don’t think he counted on was a prosecutor that might actually put him on the spot. But from what I’ve read despite some pointed questions that pissed off the judge who has shown a bias towards seeing him walk free this prosecutor hasn’t done all that great a job.

I can think of some things that if I was a prosecutor I’d already have sent my investigators to that gun store where the rifle was purchased. Rittenhouse admitted saying he picked it because it looked “cool” but he also said something else interesting. In admitting he knew it was illegal for him to buy or carry a handgun and therefore he chose to get a long gun, he testified that the store had no shotguns (or other rifles? That are actual hunting rifles) available! Really? The gun store’s records which by law they are required to maintain (and those records are serious business – I speak from experience on how carefully inventory is checked and documented having worked a gun counter once upon a time) should prove that to be a flat-out LIE.

I’m sick inside because legal analysts on MSNBC are saying the case is going well for the defense.

  3. Two unarmed people are killed by this punk. Wonder why the NRA/GOP aren’t coming to the defense of the third guy shot because he pulled a legal gun against an armed mass murderer? Isn’t that what they bleat over & over? That citizens should carry handguns just for this reason? Fuck his tears. I’ll say again fuck his tears. He cries for his own sorry ass. Wonder how many tears the families have cried, AND WILL CRY OVER THE YEARS???????????

  4. I want this little punk either fried or put away for the rest of his worthless, murdering, little life. I want him butt-f*cked three times a day and four on Sunday by the biggest man of color in whatever hell-hole they can find to throw him in. He does not deserve to live in our society-not as a free person.

  5. It won’t surprise me if this kid walks. White privilege paired with “I feared for my life” is a great defense. It works for just about every cop in a similar situation.
