“Reading and writing and rithmetic, AR-15s that go click click click, school days…”
Another priceless moment from Ken Paxton, who is both simultaneously under indictment for securities fraud and attorney general of the State of Texas. Let’s look at the bright side, shall we? Who better to prosecute crooks than someone who is a crook? Think about it It takes one to know one, right?
Paxton gives words of wisdom to his fellow Texans today as they reel from yet another tragic mass shooting and the NRA convention looms ahead this Memorial Day weekend. Plot spoiler: The “answer” is more guns. Did you think it was ever going to be anything else?

Let me just interject here, that the funerals for the people massacred in Buffalo aren’t even done yet. We can begin a new cycle now.

Here’s a tweet that didn’t age too well.
I'm EMBARRASSED: Texas #2 in nation for new gun purchases, behind CALIFORNIA. Let's pick up the pace Texans. @NRA https://t.co/Ry2GInbS1g

If more guns was the answer, we would be the safest nation on earth. It’s not and we’re not.
I’m waiting for some gun freak to suggest that schools should supply kevlar uniforms for the kids.
Why do they still keep arguing that the solution to gun crime is even more guns? Besides which will teacher training now include weapon handling and tactics?
The 3 ‘R’s are NOT reading, writing and rifles
Teachers already have more work than they can deal with. Parents need to be responsible for some of this, along with pastors, school administrators (who get problem kids reported and then do nothing), and legislators who think more guns are an answer for everything.
