There’s still more fallout from Trump Media and their hissy fit over what they depict as a conspiracy by media corporations to defame them. ABC is one of those entities and Jimmy Kimmel is the one who made a comment on the air which so incensed Trumpty Dumpty. Newsbreak:

Jimmy Kimmel revealed he received a letter from Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG), the organization that runs Donald Trump ‘s social media site Truth Social , about how he stated the platform is losing money during his show on Tuesday, November 14. During that specific episode, Kimmel, 56, said Truth Social had lost $73 million since its launch, but after checking TMTG’s filing with the SEC, the company had “only” lost $31.6 million. “This morning I woke up to a letter from the Trump media and Technology Group demanding that I apologize for and retract a statement I made on the air about his struggling social media platform, Truth Social ,” Kimmel revealed on Thursday, November 16.

The letter went on to demand that ABC “completely retract all versions of the segment” and “publish a mutually agreeable apology… acknowledging that the segment was false and has been retracted… Unless these steps are taken immediately, TMTG will take swift legal action to uphold its rights and reputation.” So Kimmel decided to submit this version of a “mutually agreeable apology” to Trump, Devin Nunes and their minions.

“We talk a lot about Donald Trump here at the show in the same way paleontologists talk about apes, right? We’re studying him but it’s easy to forget sometimes that he actually sees this stuff,” he quipped.

“He’s obsessed with himself and with what people say about him and because of that we have somehow found ourselves once again in the wisp-thin crosshairs of our crazy ex-president and his compatriots,” he added.

The late-night host explained that he and his team make sure to “present accurate information” during his monologues.

“I have to say, demanding a retraction for reporting the value of his company incorrectly is pretty darn hilarious considering the fact he is on trial right now for reporting the value of his company incorrectly,” Kimmel said. “Maybe he should sue himself.

“But in all fairness, TMTG demanded an apology, so from the bottom of my heart, I want to say to Donald Trump and everyone at TMTG, I’m deeply sorry you’re so bad at running companies , I guess, but doesn’t this guy have bigger things to worry about?” he added.

So the gravamen of this pissing contest dispute seems to be that Kimmel, and others, reported the figure $73 million and the actual figure is $31.6. So what is their point? Truth Social is only hemorrhaging money at half the rate reported and that is important, why now? I truly seek to understand the logic here. So if I go down to the Strip tonight and gamble away a hypothetical farm worth $20 million, but in point of fact it’s later learned that the farm was only worth $10 million, what’s the difference? Didn’t I lose the farm? Isn’t that the issue? Or, is the issue that I’m only half a failure, because the farm I lost was worth $10 million and so people should praise me for that. Beats me.

Isn’t the issue with Truth Social that it was funded in a shady, unstable manner to begin with and it’s soon to be going out of business? Maybe it did not lose $73 million. Okay, let’s all go ahead and stipulate to that fact. But does losing ONLY $31.6 million then make it a viable company now? Is that how it works?

Are hedge fund managers and bankers dancing on Wall Street right now? “Guess what, Jack? Truth Social only lost $31.6 million.” “Gee, that’s swell, Bob. I had one leg out the window, but I’ll come back in now.”

So losing $31.6 million is a success story, I guess. That’s good to know. And in the upside down world of Trump, yes, I guess that is a success story. Congratulations, Donald and Devin. And good luck with those world class wines that taste like glycerine. That’s bound to be yet another success story. I can’t wait.

  1. he always tries to pin his losses on anyone else and is obviously trying to
gin up pushback on Kimmel and his show.

“see, everyone is making me sad and poor. it’s not me.”

  2. With financial numbers all over the map, I suspect the lawyers representing media firms that have been sued will be thrilled to go to court. It will be like the NY fraud trial on steroids.

  3. The $70 M + number was one floated around by pretty much every media outlet, financial news outlets, and other sources-some even knowledgeable about such things. This figure was calculated using information available at the time it was calculated. What is b.s., I mean t.s., worth today and where the losses stand (and it’s a moving target f.f.s.)? Who in the f*ck knows-including mango man himself. trump misses the point as usual and that point is this: b.s. I mean t.s., has lost tens of millions of dollars. To most people that is a sign the company is worth less than a pot to piss in. Dumbass drumpf posts on zitter now-doesn’t that right there prove HIS company is pretty much without worth? Not to dumbass apparently. Call me kooky but if I created a social media company to compete against zitter, I’d be using the damned thing ALL the time making my followers come to me on that platform.
