This is all we need for things to get super nutz, particularly on Twitter. Twitter’s infrastructure is hanging by a thread since Elon Musk’s bullying techniques sent the brightest and the best out the door, pissed, and if Donald Trump is let back on, we assume his 88 million followers will show up to deify him — and possibly crash the platform.
Or, who knows? Maybe the sane people will outvote the crazies (it has been known to happen) and Trump will be kept off Twitter.
Musk may be thinking that this is it, his chance to save his platform by becoming the Vox MAGA. Isn’t that clever? He’s going to do what he wanted to do all the time, be the Vox MAGA and he’s got it rationalized that he’s doing it to save his platform and level the playing field, now that Poor Donald has had a Special Counsel appointed.

I’ll stick with my shot, Vox MAGA.
No idea what this is about. Either Musk is testing the waters, or he believes that this will revive Twitter — which means he believes what Trump said, that he was the life of Twitter.
All I know is that I’m being asked to believe at least six impossible things and it’s nowhere near breakfast time.
The bots are voting yes, of course.
I don’t know what he hopes to achieve with that. It doesn’t seem to me that Musk wants to be stirring the partisan pot at a time when he’s literally fighting to not lose a massive investment.
More nails in the coffin of Twitter.
There are people and businesses that say twitter has been helpful to them, even essential to their success in some cases. Hell, you’ve told me that it’s been helpful to this site. So in that sense it would suck if it crashes and burns. However, one has to measure any good against the bad and when it comes to twitter it’s long been (in my own humble opinion) every bit as destructive as it has been helpful. Twitter might have proved useful in say organizing protests in Iran or other places but there are ways counties can inhibit it or shut it down as China has shown. I’m certain people have been at work organizing ways to network without twitter or even FB. Not as fast or efficient but they will be able to get the job done.
The harm? Where to even begin? Like FB it has promulgated massive misinformation and even been a critical tool in disseminating misinformation – it’s been weaponized for a lot of bad stuff that has led to some awful shit that has ruined lives, cultures and even quite literally cost people their lives. If it crashes and burns the world will still keep turning. Something else will come along, and hopefully a better version that filters out much of the shit that flows through in information ecosystem. Twitter’s founder is said to be working on a new platform, which maybe will do just that. And all of a sudden he’s got a wealth of talent with “on-point” skills available to help him build out something new. And you know what? They just might demand something of HIM, as in forcing a platform that addresses problems we all know twitter (and FB) have been guilty of!
I confess I still use Twitter. But the red line is TFG reinstatement. If Musk does that I’m way out of there.
I have one account with almost 30K followers. I’ve noticed that since Musk took over many followers have been bailing out, more than new followers.
I had 10K followers with LW Political activism. 3 months ago, they permanently banned me & took away my followers! And get this, it was for this posting, “RW are low-life, no class, white trash”! This was after 16 yrs on Twitter! I now figured out, the RW trolls banded together, to get me ousted! I think that is what happened! I pleaded my case twice, what they said I could do, nothing happened! Anyway, Musk was coming, right before this occurred, so I gave up! Now I’m OK w/it! I do miss my buddies & like-minded Twitters!
