As well you know, Donald Trump can be counted upon for one thing and one thing alone: consistency. He is consistently a self-centered narcissist of a degree rarely seen outside of a psychiatric ward and almost never seen in public life. That’s not due to the virtue of public servants, that’s due to the simple nature of the job, that if you’re trying to get elected to office, it would be well if you could convince your constituents that you’re actually concerned about them. Trump’s interest in aligning with his constituents’ qualms only happens when he promises them retribution and revenge — against the people he hates. Here is Trump talking in Texas along with Biden, who went there to comfort that state during the recent wildfires.

More, if you need it. Biden went there to do some governing to get something done while this guy is busy with his propaganda. (Bottom clip — although the top is a classic, if you haven’t seen it already.) And the bottom line is that Trump is oblivious to disaster. Do you remember when the town of Paradise, California burned to the ground? Trump couldn’t even remember the name. He called it “pleasure.” The second time he did it, a grim Jerry Brown, Gavin Newsom and other members of a somber party corrected him, as they looked at the ground. They were there to assist a stricken community, Trump was there for a photo op.

This is pretty much all you need to hear. The tweet ends: Congress to block this legislation, join me, or I’ll join you in telling the Congress to pass this bipartisan border bill… Instead of playing politics with the issue, why don’t we get to deter and get it done. Remember who we work for. We work for the American people. Not the democratic party or the Republican party. Let’s remember who we are. We are the United States of America.” Let’s come together to solve this problem!

And will the Sunday political shows illustrate how bonkers Trump was this weekend? If they do, I may pour steak sauce on the computer and eat it.

  1. Trumps numerous gaffes and confusions are ignored, while Biden’s rare, occasional mistakes are highlighted and over-emphasised by a media system desperate for the ratings bonanza of covering “The Race For Powerâ„¢ ” which might as well be known as ‘The Race For The End Of Democracy In Americaâ„¢ ” for all they care, as long as they make money, lots of money.

    • The media forget that their horse race affects real.people: seniors, children, working people. And his gastric voters only care about raging against anyone better educated (and up to their ears in debt), less white, and a different religion or ak more liberal Christian.
I keep.suspecting the reporters and opinion writers are playing bets as if it were a real.Goes horserace.

    Living, shall forfeit fair renown,
And, doubly dying, shall go down
To the vile dust, from whence he sprung.
    Unwept, unhonored, and unsung.”
