This was to be expected. Trumpty Dumpty is not having a happy day. Six more of his sycophants have been subpoenaed by the House January 6 Committee. His lawyers have appealed the court ordered depositions of himself, Junior and Ivanka. He knows as well as we do that that’s a stalling tactic.
And into it all, the State of the Union address is on TV tonight and Trumpty’s not. Although he’ll probably call into Fox News to say everything that Joe does wrong. God forbid the actual President of the United States should get focus placed on him tonight, especially since he’s giving the SOTU in a time of war. Trumpty really can’t stand that.

I think I may have mentioned that before, Ursula. He’ll wait until the last possible moment before making any announcement of his candidacy. That way he doesn’t have to account to the FEC about what he’s doing with all the money he has raised prior to any announcement. What’s the betting that he’ll start a new begging campaign and squirrel all the earlier cash away?
Of course he mightn’t have much of it left if the wheels of justice manage to turn and he finds himself disqualified and/or broke
Most candidate making a sincere effort (building a staff to jump through all the hoops to get on ballots, tend to logistics for trave/events and of course raising money and setting up donors for the general election campaign after getting nominated) play this game. They are running. We know or are pretty sure they are running – everyone does. They know everyone knows it. But this big pretend crap goes on and the FEC doesn’t do shit about it. Not that they could do much even if they wanted to. Some declare sooner than others and trigger the real rules candidates have to live by and some like Trump will as you say hold off as long as possible.
He started his 2020 campaign finance committee literally as he finished taking the oath of office. He’s never accounted for all of *that* money.
