Remember the pushmi pullyou from Dr. Doolittle? Slap a blond wig and a red tie on it and it could be Donald Trump. Trump managed to sound upbeat and positive for all of ten seconds in a Get Out The Vote promo that he did for the National Republican Senatorial Committee.
Simply, the NRSC has a whale of a problem. If you think Captain Ahab losing his leg to the white whale was bad, the NRSC has been having screaming nightmares about waking up the day after the election and the senate is firmly in Democratic hands. Not barely, like right now, but firmly.
In order to stave that off, they got Trumpty Dumpty to cut this ad. You’ll like it. He attempts to sound like a sane human, which lasts all of ten seconds, and then he goes on about how terrible it all is.
You are likely to see more of this. This is desperation time. The calendar just flipped over to September at midnight and unless some major ground can be recovered, a lot of Trump’s hand picked candidates are toast. Herschel Walker will most probably tank and that’s a blessing for the poor man. He may not see it that way, but he is not cut out for the task at hand. He’s sick.
Then going from sick to slick, we have Mehmet Oz and if I had to predict a wipe out anywhere on the senate map, it would be Pennsylvania. Polls are showing anywhere from a four point to a thirteen point lead for John Fetterman.
J.D. Vance and Blake Masters are not looking so great, either, in Ohio and Arizona. But did Trump mention any of these candidates by name? Hell, no. That’s because, like the pushmi pullyou, he only wants to associate with them if they are winners. If they are losers, he never knew them, they just made coffee.
Another Trump endorsee, Adam Laxalt, is trailing the Democratic incumbent Catherine Cortez-Masto by four points, in Nevada.
Trump could have used his one minute to mention one or many or all of these candidates. He mentioned none. But he did shut up about the Big Lie and how the FBI broke into his home and did everything from crack his safe to fondle his wife’s lingerie.
And right now, if you’re at the NRSC, you’re thanking God that the promo went as well as it did. Because you know how it could have tanked altogether.
Not to worry ursula. This is Trump we’re talking about and I can guarantee you the NRSC is already sweating bullets, because while you’re correct this was about the best they could hope for he’ll be out there doing EVERY bit of damage he didn’t do in this ad. Repeatedly.

Wrong question…the correct one is how much of that got siphoned away. Not just Trump, though he’s the biggest offender. Putting Rick Scott next to a pile of money like the Republican Senate campaign finances is like handing a junkie the keys to the pharmacy.

I’m not so sure we’ll not hear his voice even tho’ he’s in our penal system. Journalists can interview prisoners and often do. I cannot imagine a day going by without someone from Newsmax or the others not getting the “news” to their viewers. I hope I am very wrong on this. For the nine hundredth time, not…how…this works. The evidence that the DOJ presented this last week shows indictments are coming but it’ll only be on THEIR schedule.
Hope so, but indictments are NOT convictions. One lying magat on the jury who slips by…mistrial. Remember how many people lied to the pollsters? That being said, indictments at least shows a level of system integrity that hasn’t happened in his twenty plus years of criminality. I’m not shredding colored paper to make confetti for the big celebration until he’s standing in front of a judge, having been convicted, AND sentenced by a judge that isn’t one of his stooges.
The REAL danger isn’t the composition of a jury but whether or not a jury can actually be formed. I really doubt if there is a siongle US citizen qualified to sit on a jury as being ‘impartial’

Jury selection, if his Supreme Court doesn’t throw the rule book out like they did for roe vs wade, & say, oh well, it was all just an honest mistake, and ex presidents aren’t regular people, a little treason & espionage is allowed cuz we found a memo, then sitting a jury may take longer than I have left. I’m 69 & trump’s lowered the life expectancy,(fact), by killing over a million of our citizens. So who knows. Keep firing attorneys and he could drag this out for years.
