Humiliating.
If Joe Biden isn’t lucky enough to have the economy really moving again by election day 2024, there’s a decent chance that Donald Trump could win the presidency and end democracy in America. I truly believe that once installed in office, Donald Trump will never give it up. He will declare a state of emergency and martial law on day one, and it will remain in place, and there’s fck all the Congress or SCOTUS can do about it so long as it remains in place. Of late, Trump has taken a page from Kari Lake, who did interviews with lip balm smeared over the camera lens, and put out videos that are darkly lit, perhaps intentionally done to hide features that make Trump look older. He then simply reads a statement.
Today, Trump believed it was necessary to defend his friend Vladimir Putin from Ron DeSantis’s surprisingly direct description as “an authoritarian gas station attendant.” Perfect, except for the fact that DeSantis should have noted that the gas station attendant also pumps the gas from the ground and keeps all the money from it. That’s the part Trump loves about him, that and the fact that Putin hasn’t released whatever he has over Trump.
Trump calls it “simple thinking” and the reason we can’t end the war. Trump then, amazingly, goes on to talk about Russia being a great nation with great culture and national pride, and this type of thinking only prolongs the war. Trump should have just said that Russia is the greatest nation on earth because that is what he sounded like in defending and respecting Russia.
It is humiliating and outrageous because Russia sends artillery shells directly into tall apartment buildings, killing babies and the elderly who did nothing but live in a democracy next to the 21st Century’s Stalin. There is NO reason there should be a “negotiated” end to the Ukrainian war. The negotiation should be about how much money Russia pays in reparations after every last soldier is gone. But the Russophiles in the Republican party actually love Russia because Russia represents the model of government they want to install in the United States. Never forget, Russia has a Constitution, it has “elections,” it has “courts,” and it has a “counsel” that meets to vote on laws and internal matters. It is just that none of it means anything because Putin rules with an iron fist, and people that fail him or threaten him get thrown off buildings. Trump and the MAGAs respect that type of government and believe it is the only way to “Save the American way of life.” Trump just wishes he could throw people off tall buildings and rule with an iron fist. He doesn’t care about his supporters.
But for Trump to get the presidency back, he needs Putin’s help. We can’t predict how or why

Well, on the one hand no one knows “simple-minded thinking” better than the simpleton trump. On the other, he really can stop sucking putie’s cock now-he’s not president and really only has a chance of being one again in some weird, alternate reality.

Media coverage, be it left or right, is contributing to everything Donald Trump. He has a snowball’s chance in Hell of ever being elected, again. You just play right into his hands. Ignore him. Don’t write about him, 4 times a day, every single day.
The thing that Putin has on Trump is that Trump has been a Russian asset for the past 40 years, and he has to keep being one because that’s his only life support.
