Now we worry about the violence because if Trump has done anything since the investigations started, it has been to fan the flames of rage that have almost defined his movement from the very beginning. They want a reason to fight, some of them violently. These are not people who are interested in tax policy or the family leave act. They hate us, period. They found a man who hated Democrats as much as they did. (Trump was a Democrat until 2008, I wonder what happened then.) And that hatred was always bound to lead to violence as it did on January 6th and, I fear, will again soon enough.
This morning, Trump did the single dumbest thing possible for a man in his position in attacking the judge in his case. But even worse, he is putting the judge at risk:
The Judge “assigned” to my Witch Hunt Case, a “Case” that has NEVER BEEN CHARGED BEFORE, HATES ME. His name is Juan Manuel Marchan, was hand-picked by Bragg & the Prosecutors, & is the same person who “railroaded” my 75-year-old former CFO, Allen Weisselberg, to take a “plea” deal (Plead GUILTY, even if you are not, 90 DAYS, fight us in Court, 10 years (life!) in jail. He strong-armed Allen, which a judge is not allowed to do, & treated my companies, which didn’t “plead,” VICIOUSLY. APPEALING!
Trump had the option of saying: “The judge is irrelevant. The judge didn’t charge me and isn’t part of this political persecution. The problem is the prosecutor…” But, of course, he couldn’t do that because he’s Donald Trump. Note Trump used the full name to highlight that the judge is Hispanic. Merchan is originally from Bogata and immigrated here as a kid.
Trump implies that this judge was picked purposefully because he already has a record of hating Trump. There are some ways that prosecutors can play games in filing in front of certain judges (Judge Aileen Cannon), but I doubt one can do so among the dozens and dozens of judges in the Manhattan courthouse. The case may have been assigned to Judge Merchan – who the New York attorneys have nothing but laudatory praise – because Merchan is already familiar with the Trump Organization.
Trump doesn’t know all the crimes for which he’s facing charges. With Trump’s CFO Weisselberg changing attorneys, Weisellberg might well be ready to talk now and this case may end up being more about fraudulent taxes than Stormy and thus is an extension of the Weisselberg and Trump Organization case. We don’t know, and Trump doesn’t know.
But look at how he places the sites right on Merchan’s back. “Strong-arming”? Judges play no role in whether to take a plea or not. Every single judge does have the duty to set out the possible range of sentencing and whether the defendant understands the charges and his rights. They really emphasize that the judge isn’t limited to a deal made by prosecutors because it’s true, even though they almost always do follow the deal.
Trump whines about Merchan hating him and again putting Merchan in danger by implying that he’s in cahoots with the D.A. It may be true that Marchan hates Trump. But judges hate many of the criminal (and civil) defendants that come before them, and the vast majority of them can easily set aside their personal beliefs and not even read the name on the caption. And the very fact that the Trump Organization still exists and didn’t face dissolution.
It all just puts a target on Merchan’s back. He will now require serious security. This is where we worry that the violence begins in earnest. Trump wants that. Trump wants to intimidate prosecutors and even judges. And we all know there are people out there willing to be a martyr on behalf of “the greatest president this country has ever had and is being controlled by globalists and Jews… ”

Thanks for correcting the judge’s name. I had an issue with the way the story appeared on my screen. It left blank the name of the country that Merchan is from. Here is how the stor appeared on my screen:

Notice the blank at the end of the line in the middle. I searched online and found that Merchan was born in Bogotá, Colombia, and he came to the US at the age of 6.
I corrected that quickly this morning as I redid the names, noting he was from Bogata and immigrated as a young boy.

Of course he has. The Russians put every Ukrainian, and anyone else who opposes them at risk for violence. Same fascist mindset. If calling this a war is incorrect, why is violence always a part of their formula? You never saw the antiwar demonstrators, a half million strong during a march on Washington, on Oct 15, 1969, with ar15 pins. They are the reason Nixon lied about cannabis. He couldn’t outlaw being young, or protesting against the war, or being part of the Civil rights movement, so he criminalized pot smokers. A law to this very day. Everyone arrested since, are as much a political prisoner in america, as are those arrested in russia for protesting putin’s war. Fact. A law, based on lies, put in place by a criminal, to promote his/her political power is not a law, but a criminal directive. By the way, a documentary about that movement shows you just never know. Everyone thought they’d failed, since the Vietnam war raged on. What no one knew, was Nixon and Kissinger were seriously contemplating using a nuclear weapon, but, due to the massive protests that October/early November, they decided against it. Never think dissent over injustice is wasted. Let him bitch, moan, and complain. Let his trogladykes lock and load. Cowards all. Bring the hammer down on all traitors and child killers. The law should stand to promote truth, justice, and the common good. Too often it’s wielded by the wrong people. Time to start righting some wrongs.
