Let me make this clear right off of the bat. The Democrats cannot trust South Carolina GOP Senator Tim Scott as an honest broker when it comes to the George Floyd policing bill. The fact that Scott actually came out in his GOP rebuttal speech against Biden’s address and said that America is not a racist country is an embarrassment to his heritage.
But that’s not why I’m here. Scott’s GOP rebuttal to Biden’s speech was an insipid, low energy, hypocritical blatherfest full of lies. But twice during his address, he tried to insert a little sleight pf hand that might give the GOP some hope to run on in 2022, and the Democrats had better counteract it most riki-tik!
In his speech, Scott desperately tried twice to rebut Biden’s victory lap over the successful vaccination rollout that put 200 million shots in arms in Biden’s first 100 days. Scott claimed that the Biden administration was actually piggybacking off the the spectacular success of the Trump engendered Operation warp Speed program to fast track virus vaccine creation and production in this country. He said it twice, just to make his point.
There’s just one small problem with this assertion. Not one of the three pharmaceutical companies that have vaccines approved by the FDA for emergency use, Pfizer, Moderna, or Johnson & Johnson, took a single fucking penny of Operation Warp Speed got use! money in the process of developing or certifying their vaccines!
The Democrats need to push back against this immediately. Because there are already soulless GOP House and Senate toads out there going back to their states and districts and touting the effects of the Biden Covid relief bill that they all voted against. Given an open field to run on, the GOP will all claim that the resolution of the Covid crisis is a Trump as opposed to the miracle of government full bore approach that Biden undertook.
Look, the GOP strategy for 2022 is in the shitter. They’re reduced to otherism, white grievance, and culture wars. If House and Senate incumbents can go home and claim credit for stalling out the Covid 19 crisis, they have a positive accomplishment to run on. And we can’t let them do that.

There is NO reason to even read between the lines, it’s such blatant drivel, the Dems better have a cleansing message out pronto, this crap is never going to fly if we all hold up mirrors and bounce the truth back at the masses … Trump ANYTHING is dead in the water, he is the worst has-been EVER in our country, to claim ANY credit other than major responsibility for hundreds of thousands of American Citizen’s deaths, is completely absurd …
My grandfather used to make us kids laugh by saying “throw rocks” at anyone/thing we didn’t like (certain cars, certain people, certain statements, i.e., throw rocks at Roy Orbison). Last night was the first time in many years I thought to Throw Rocks at my TV and Tim Scott. WTF. This guy ought to be ashamed.
I agree, blatant drivel it is. The trouble is the sheeples will believe it, unless we count it. Dems do need to up our game on messaging. We hold the trump cards with the truth! We need to use them.
Scott says we’re not a racist country, and talks about how he’s been stopped sometimes because he’s “driving a new car in the wrong neighborhood” – most of us call that racism.

Even if Biden had piggy-backed off Operation Warp Speed, Trump would not have piggybacked off it. If we were in a second Trump administration, all previous experience with Trump indicates the vaccine roll-out would have been a chaotic mess.
The point needs to be made, and re-made, and made some more, that Operation Warp Speed was nothing but a bunch of chin music. None of the three drug companies whose vaccines are in use got a DIME from it! This needs a lot of repetition. It was nothing but what it always was- Trump running his big, fat mouth. This is Biden’s accomplishment, and this point needs to be hammered home, no matter how big a hammer we have to come up with!
