If you need a good laugh you could hardly do worse than watching House and Senate Republicans in action. Especially during this last week when the GOP has seemed like one enormous farce. I mean really, these people couldn’t even get it together enough to accomplish their two biggest priorities — impeaching Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and tightening the southern border.

If these two “priorities” were a house fire and Republicans were firefighters the whole city would burn down. That’s how inept these people are. House Republicans had also tried — and failed to pass a standalone $17.6 billion foreign aid package to Israel. These misfires are so bad that even many GOPers miss Nancy Pelosi and wish she was back in town, according to Raw Story.

“in the house, the pair of stunning floor defeats was so painful that it even had many republicans heaping rare praise on former speaker nancy pelosi and house democrats for their vote counting skills, and pining after disgraced former gop rep. george santos, who was expelled, but at least cushioned their majority,” CNN’s melanie zanona, annie grayer, and manu raju reported.

I mean even Freedom Caucus member Rep. Ralph Norman (R-S.C.) seemed grudgingly wistful for Pelosi, noting “As bad as Pelosi was, she knew her votes before they took place.”

“The meltdown-just the latest in a long string of chaotic moments under this gop majority — is raising fresh concerns over how Republicans will navigate the fast approaching government funding deadline, and their ability to maintain control of the house after november,” CNN reported.

And the situation turns even dumber, which is hard to imagine. But hey, we’re talking about Republicans after all. But we have Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) to thank for this one. Sure he spearheaded the move to push former Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) out of his house speaker position, but now he’s saying he wished McCarthy had stayed in Congress to at least give his vote on these issues.

Really, there is just no way in hell you can make this stuff up. Republicans are incredible. And not in a good way. Frankly, there is just no way Johnson, McCarthy, or would-be House Speaker Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan (remember him?) could ever fill Pelosi’s shoes and it’s weirdly satisfying to watch them fall on their faces.

  1. The chaos is their point.

Behind closed doors, Johnson says to Stefanik: “We have to eat a little crow here in public, Elise, ‘cuz they’re gonna say we look like idiots. But we have succeeded in our goal. They’re so busy hammering our alleged incompetence that they haven’t noticed that there’s still our razor wire on the Rio Grande, we still can yell “Border Crisis” til the cows come home, and there ain’t no foreign aid money going to Israel OR Ukraine. I think we’re being quite successful, the “Boss” tells me so, so let’s not let the cat out of the bag yet. We shouldn’t let anyone know that this was our plan all along.”

    Yeah, some stupid goobers, huh…???

  2. Moses Mike must go. He is destroying the constitution, which is already shredded by SCOTUS. When you say God speaks directly to you, the nirmal.reaction would be a 72hiur psychiatric hold and some in-depth testing. But if you are an evangelical Co freshman nutjob, that goes out the window.
Somebody needs to.explain that the constitution forbids an established church in this country, because Mikey seems to have slept through his constitutional law class.
