I think that we all pretty much agree that the January 6th committee blew the doors off Thursday night. But one thing is going to end up standing out over everything else that came that night. It has already generated some media buzz, but nowhere near what it will in the days to follow.

In her opening statement, Vice Chair Liz Cheney repeatedly crucified Trump for his guilty knowledge, and insistence on pushing the insurrection forward, but late in her statement came the golden nugget, Representative Scott Perry has refused to testify in front of this committee. The evidence will show that in the days following the insurrection, Perry petitioned the White House for a pardon. Further evidence will prove that in the days following the insurrections other GOP  members also contacted the White House requesting pardons. Do tell Liz, do tell.

Of course, Scott Perry immediately tweeted out that the charge was false and malicious bullshit. That’s right kid, you keep right on up with that Who are you going to believe, me or your lying eyes bullshit. As I’ve pointed out earlier, the J6 committee has interviewed more than 1000 witnesses, and perused more than 140,000 documents. In the white hot glare of the prime time spotlight, they’re highly unlikely to claim something that they can’t prove up.

Which begs the question, Who else? And as the poet (Roger Rabbit) would say, How do I I pardon you, let me count the ways. Where do we even start? Paul Gosar, Matt Gaetz, Madison Cawthorn, Louie Gohmert, Lauren Boebert, Marjorie Taylor Greene. All have been suspects for leading tours on the day before the insurrection. Who else was involved?

Which begs, as the poet said, How do I pardon you, let me count the ways. Paul Gosar, Matt Gaetz, Jim Jordan, Madison Cawthorn, Lauren Boebert, Marjorie Taylor Greene. All have been suspected of assisting the Proud Boys with tours on the day before the Capitol riot. Come on Liz. Enquiring minds want to know.

But ignore that for a moment, because the wider picture is so much more damning. As career federal prosecutor Glenn Kirschner said on MSNBC, If you have a case, and the suspect can be proven to have gone to a Governor or President to request a pardon, that’s prosecutorial gold. Even if a suspect confesses to the FBI, his lawyer can argue in court that he was coerced into doing so. But who in the world coerces a suspect into running to a Governor or President to request a pardon? That’s both criminal intent as well as guilty knowledge right there.

Now, let’s extrapolate, shall we? If the fact that these miscreants go running to the President looking for a pardon for what they already know or suspect may be criminal acts, and the White House accepts their requests, what does that say about The White House and the President? They must have guilty knowledge of the crimes, or why wouldn’t they start asking questions about what the pardon was for? The simp0le fact of the pardon requests shows that the White House was complicit in the plot from the start.

And here’s the McGuffin, because I always like to give you guys the McGuffin. In the taped testimony on Thursday, Jared Kushner was asked about possible threats from White House Counsel Pat Cipollone and his team resigning, Kushner said that they were always threatening to resign, and that he just brushed it off as whining.

But what was lost was what he said before that. He started by saying that at the time, his focus was on ramming through As many last minute pardons as possible. Do tell, Jared, do tell. Might that include faithful GOP House soldiers that carried Trump’s water in the days leading up to the criminal assault on the Capitol? To repeat, Enquiring minds want to know. And I pray that we find out.

Do yourself a favor, keep this on your radar. The mere fact that these sitting members of congress petitioned the White House for pardons shows consciousness of guilt. And if the White House accepted those requests then that proces guilty knowledge of the crimes that were committed. This is going to explode.
