Steve Schmidt quits the Republican Party!

This just in.  Steve Schmidt, a Republican who has served on the campaigns for George W. Bush, Arnold Schwarzenegger and John McCain has left the Republican party.

He then adds:

Schmidt also urged his viewers on MSNBC to disassociate with the party of Trump by voting Democratic in the upcoming November elections:

“The first step to a season of renewal in our land is the absolute and utter repudiation of Trump and his vile enablers in the 2018 election by electing Democratic majorities,” he added. “I do not say this as an advocate of a progressive agenda. I say it as someone who retains belief in DEMOCRACY and decency.”

And if that doesn’t make you like him yet, here is what he has written on his Twitter page:

“”Patriotism means to stand by the country. It does not mean to stand by the President.” Theodore Roosevelt, 26th President of the United States.”

Let’s hope he’s the first of many to renounce ‘President’ Trump.

  1. I was beginning to doubt that we had any moral Republicans which cared about our country. I’m glad to see that we have at least one. I don’t see how the other Republicans can stand by this administration when it has no ethics and continues to try and do away with our constitution and the American way of life. I wish you the best Steve Schmidt.
