Steve Schmidt is incensed today and well he should be. What’s taking place in Portland is a horrifying spectacle. That said, I am not certain that the Governor of Oregon sending in another military force to combat the one Trump send in, is the right answer. Portland Oregon. The Governor of Oregon should deploy the State Police and the National Guard to arrest on site any heavily armed Paramilitary forces who are operating without ID’s, Badges and snatching Americans off of the street and stuffing them into unmarked vehicles. 1

First, Schmidt did not “melt down”. His observations and comments are clear, concise and a clarion call to our citizens and our Congress. This is a trail run by Trump to create his own Gestapo.
Second, Schmidt is right. Where are the Congressmen and Senators? Where is the ACLU? So far the only people who are outraged are the state of Oregon and the City of Portlands elected officials and Portlands citizens. They filed lawsuits earlier today.
Make no mistake: as in every other action Trump takes the objectives are (1) pump his base, (2) see how much he can get away with and (3) then to numb the Congress and people of this country to his outrageous and illegal actions.

ACLU filed their FIRST suit days ago. The state has also filed suit. Find better sources of information.
