Sidney Powell Lin Wood Ordered To Pay Sanctions, Referred For Disbarment Proceedings

The Kraken has been unleashed, alright, but it appears that the mythical monster has turned on its makers. Sidney Powell and Lin Wood put together a bogus case to challenge the results of the 2020 election in Michigan. The judge said, “this case was never about fraud. It was about undermining the People’s faith in our democracy and debasing the judicial process to do so.”

The judge also suggested “a referral for investigation and possible suspension or disbarment to the appropriate disciplinary authority for every state bar and federal court in which each attorney is admitted.” Wow. One small step for jurisprudence, one giant leap into the abyss for Wood and Powell. And they’re ordered to take a class in professional responsibility.

What I have always found fascinating about these two — and Rudy Giuliani — is how in the world did they ever think they would actually get away with lying to the court the way they were? It was interesting that Powell came up with the lame defense that no reasonable person would take her comments seriously, and Wood didn’t even bother to go that far. But then Wood is known to have messianic moments, when he’s told his law partners that he’s actually Jesus. Maybe he’s afraid to trot that one out for general consumption.

One more step towards justice.
