I used to say it was a toss up between Greg Abbott and Ron DeSantis who was the worst governor in America. No longer. DeSantis takes the prize. Today he exculpated himself from all responsibility for the COVID-19 crisis, which has crippled his state. It was evident from the very beginning, back in March, 2020, that DeSantis’ handling of the coronavirus left much to be desired.
He left beaches open and Florida became a hot spot. Then he went on his anti-mask crusade, sold his “Don’t Fauci Florida” merchandise, and things went screaming to crisis proportions — just as predicted. Now, the man has nothing to say for himself, other than to invoke conspiracy theory and throw it all on the shoulders of Joe Biden. If you are looking for the textbook definition of mud slinging and dirty politics, bookmark this. You will find no better example, anywhere.

The sheer stupidity of this is mind boggling. “Hundreds of countries?” What, they all parachute on the Mexican border at night and then stroll across and have an ice cream social once they get to Texas? And then they draw straws who will go to Florida and become super spreaders.
DeSantis is a public menace. The fact that he’s slated to be on the GOP ticket in the top spot if Trump doesn’t run makes me say come on back Donald. At least you’re a complete idiot. DeSantis is smarter and therefore far more dangerous.
American politics is a a dangerous crossroads with this going on. We may begin to long for the insanity of Trump, it was actually a safer space to be in because he was such a fumbling bumbling buffoon. DeSantis is the American Mussolini ramping up.

Would someone with a little common sense ask deSantis when he blamed Donald Trump for Florida’s initial COVID cases? I mean, after all, for all his blather about getting a wall built, Trump ultimately didn’t do all that much and there was a whole lot of public information about all the migrants being captured at the border and the kids being put in cages and all but, for some reason, Florida had tons of COVID cases. And deSantis did not ever blame Trump for the state’s caseload.
Also, remember when that wall collapsed and fell. Florida and most of the red states are covid spreaders someone needs to remind them where it has hit the hardest over and over again
Big talk from a guy whose “southern border” is the Atlantic Ocean, which is gradually swallowing up his state with seawater. DeathSantis is doing his poor man’s Trump act for the same reason Kevin McCarthy still takes advice from the real Trump: he doesn’t know what else to do.
Abbott is trying to blame immigrants for COVID in TX, but all the evidence indicates that the surge is home-grown: immigrants are more likely to be vaccinated.
Unvaxxed immigrants in Florida are from places like Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan….
In fact, only 1% of the immigrants in TX are COVID-positive.
