Any film buffs here who remember the Search For Scarlett O’Hara? What’s going on at Fox News is a lot like that. Apparently the Murdochs don’t know anything about the theater and how it works. Which is surprising considering that make believe is how they make their money. In the legitimate theater, there is the role of the understudy. This position exists so that, heaven forbid something happens to the star, the show can go on. At Fox News, they’re auditioning for the understudy after they’ve canned the star. That’s a terrible idea as the clip you’re about to watch illustrates, far better than any comment I can make.

Get the hook. I’ll tell you one thing, though. After all the years of Trump idiocy, if I was a Republican I would start to look at Asa Hutchinson with a kind eye. At least the man has composure and some kind of a track record, attributes which used to mean a great deal.
And I love Hutchinson’s demeanor with Jones. It reminds me of office parties where a colleague’s spouse has had too much to drink and people are humoring the person, so as to not cause a scene. And the GOP is indeed Hutchinson’s colleague and Fox News is the GOP’s spouse. About that there is no question.
Lawrence Jones, here, is simply abysmal. He just doesn’t have what it takes and no sense to elaborate on that much further. Brian Kilmeade took Tucker Carlson’s chair the day Carlson was let go and he isn’t a match for the gig, either.
We have not yet seen the Black Tucker Carlson, if such a thing exists. But good news: if you are Black, white, female even, at this point it doesn’t matter, and if you have a certain kind of phony laugh and you’re able to match up with Laura and Sean in the sophistry department, you, too, have a great career waiting at Fox News.
I wonder how long this is going to take? This could be the play within the play, watching the auditions for Tucker’s replacement go on within the general maelstrom of Faux News revving up for the GOP primary and the general election.
As a matter of fact, if Fox plays it right, this search for Tucker Two could be the most entertaining thing on their airwaves.
Can you really imagine Rupert Murdoch replacing Tucker with an African American? Their racist misogynist audience would disappear overnight. Newsmax would be jubilant, not to mention OANN. Ain’t happenin

It’s like a scene from a comedy movie. I imagine millions of Tucker Carlson’s racist fans all over America turning on their televisions, tuning in to Tucker’s time slot, seeing Lawrence Jones sitting there, and having a heart attack right on the spot. 😆😆😆
“You’re opposed to all the things that the modern [??] Republican party stands for.” Hutchinson should have replied, “Yeah, like what?” That would have been entertaining.
