The war in Ukraine has served many purposes in our national discourse since February 24 when it began. It has made us look at partisanship, it has made us look at fake news and propaganda, and it has also provided a fresh vision of Donald Trump. Trump is a floofy goofball of a character at his best starting with his hair, which one comedian described as “cotton candy soaked in piss” to his toes.
His views on foreign policy have always been ludicrous but they were said in the context of peacetime. Since the war in Ukraine broke out three weeks ago, Trump has been asked for solutions and he has none. Zero. When pressed for an answer, he’ll talk about windmills.
He’s lazy and untutored and a joke. The man was an embarrassment to this country when he was in office and he continues to cause head shaking world wide as he struggles to say something, anything, relevant about Putin, Biden, the war.
Same with Madison Cawthorn. As pathetic as Trump is, if anything, Cawthorn is even worse.
Adam Kinzinger nonchalantly tweeted about this today and the floodgates opened.
It’s amazing when you think about it: Trump is obsessed with this idea of manliness, and he is the most soft coddled person I’ve met. Not kidding.
BUT This has to drive him crazy: Vladimir Zelensky at 5’7” is three times the man both he and @CawthornforNC are combined.

Tom Nichols is a national security expert. I agree with him. I see Trump exactly the same way and I’m at a loss to understand the base as well. The closest I can come is that Trump’s “type” is a familiar one, the toxically masculine guy pretending that his misbehavior is strength, rather than the maladjustment that it is. The base loves Trump because they know he’s a loser, too, but he’s a loser who made it big. He made the big money, he has the hot wife, he sits on a gold toilet. That’s what they love, is that he can be one of them and yet get all the goodies that they can’t. Their misbehavior brings them consequences and his doesn’t. And we’re all baffled at that, although his day of reckoning may happen at last, in his mid-seventies.
Trump fawns at masculinity with the envy of a prepubescent child. Even in his chauvinism he is awkward, dumb and inept. Cawthorn is his a mere fart-sniffer and should be dismissed as an angry and envious loser. A footrest has more humanity than he does. #GOPtheRussianParty

And they thought he would pardon them. Trump’s MAGAs, on the day of the Capitol riot, were prepared to take over America for their savior, King Donald I, because he was going to protect them. And they believe that he will still do so. He said as much at one of his rallies, when he said that if he was returned to office that he would deal “fairly” with the accused rioters.
It’s sad to find out what a rotted log America is. Trump came along and flipped it over and now you see the creatures that live underneath. Hillary was being too charitable when she called them deplorables. They’re traitors, flat out.
Now they’re traitors during war. A blindfold & cigarette should be in order. Hey merrick. How about just a goddamn indictment.
