Two term Republican Representative Mia Love has conceded to Democrat Ben McAdams, despite the fact that the vote margin was 694 votes, or just outside of the 0.25 percent needed for an automatic recount. You may recall Trump scolded Love for not turning to him for campaign support. “Mia Love would give me no love, sorry Mia, that’s how it goes,” the inference being that if you don’t accept “the embrace” of Trump, you won’t be a winner like he is. Love has called a press conference for 10 a.m. Monday at Utah Republican Party headquarters in Salt Lake City, giving rise to some speculation that her campaign could challenge the outcome of the race.
[Campaign manager Dave] Hansen said he had heard some rumblings, but there was no truth to them.
“Yeah, I had heard, ‘Is she going to file a lawsuit. Is she going to do that?’ No. It’s nothing about that. That’s over,” said Hansen.

McAdams said he’s committed to bipartisan legislation, starting with helping the Dreamers.
He said his first priority will be to push for resolving the current uncertainty of so-called “Dreamers” — young adults brought to the country as children by undocumented parents. They had been promised legal residency and job security by former President Barack Obama under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, but that was ended by President Donald Trump, who said Congress should act to resolve the issue. They have not done so.
One more Democrat who’s going to Washington to stand up to Trump. Good.
