There used to be an inviolable rule, one that – like so many other rules and traditions, went out the door with Trump and the MAGAs, that politics stopped at the water’s edge, and a president out of the country didn’t address American politics while, concurrently, when the U.S. president was abroad, the other party didn’t attack the president. Those were the days.

Today, the entire Republican party screamed that Biden went to Ukraine to support Ukrainians but hadn’t been to East Palestine, Ohio. There are some real questions as to whether DeWine even invited President Biden. From Mother Jones:

There had been some back and forth between Ohio’s republican governor, Mike DeWine, and federal officials about the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s involvement. Many other federal agencies have worked with the state after the derailment, particularly the EPA, whose head visited East Palestine last week. But as DeWine told a Friday morning press conference, FEMA is “most typically involved with disasters where there is tremendous home or property damage,” say floods or hurricanes, explaining that “is why we do not expect that FEMA will come to East Palestine.” But by the evening, DeWine announced he had learned that FEMA had reversed course—just as news of Trump’s plans spread.

Yes, fortunate timing for Trump. And now, Trump – who had to be shamed into going to Puerto Rico after one of the largest disasters in U.S. history, is coming to East Palestine to survey the damage that slashing railroad regulations, in particular, a certain breaking system, can do. Trump was the president who slashed the Obama/Biden requirement that trains install a computerized electric breaking system that could minimize derailments.

Meanwhile, Biden represented the entirety of the western world today by bravely going straight into Kyiv and staring down Putin like a president. (Remember Trump in Helsinki?)

Now the MAGA Right is unleashing its fury on Biden despite the fact that he’s representing the West overseas and saying that Biden should be in East Palestine, where there is nothing he could do. Apparently, they forget that Biden was in Florida within days of the hurricane. The trip to Ukraine had to have been developed over a month, derailment or not. But the fury below isn’t even about Ohio.

No, our “blessed patriots” below are expressing their “pro-Russia” stance much more so than they care about rural Ohio. They don’t want Americans to see Biden as bravely flipping Putin off within 250 miles of the Russian border.

That is quite the outrage. But no one was worse than MTG, who – after asking for a red/blue divorce this morning, calling for secession (traitor), tweeted out:

And I cannot express enough how many more Americans are infuriated with Marjorie. “Hate Biden”? Go fck yourself, Marj. You went WAY too far today.
