Many of us march to the sound of a different drummer, but Lin Wood hears a swarm of insane woodpeckers in his head — not to mention religious voices. Lin Wood told people last year that he would be appointed to Chief Supreme Court Justice after it was revealed that the current occupant of that post, John Roberts, would be found to be part of Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking ring.
Then there were the crazy voice mail messages to colleagues.
In one message, he threatened to beat one of his former law colleagues with a switch until “he couldn’t sit down for 20 fucking years.” In another to the colleague he had previously attacked in the elevator, he said: “Man oh man, you’re glad you’re not with me in an elevator with me right now, buddy.”
In another message threatening to “destroy” a former colleague, Wood said: “By the time I am through with [him], he’s going to wish all I had done was fuck his wife.”
Then he was telling people that he would receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom — which considering how Trump was handing those out and to whom, that was actually the least of his grandiose pretensions. That could have happened.
And then there was the night he sent a classic email to his colleagues at the law office.
“I will deliver a fiery judgment against you on earth. Who the fuck did you think you were dealing with? You were screwing around with me, but I was someone else in disguise. You in fact have been screwing around with God Almighty,” Wood wrote in an email sent in the middle of the night to a dozen former colleagues in February 2020.

Wood is one sick mofo. If the Republicans of South Carolina see fit to elect him to head up the local GOP it is going to be the worst thing they ever did. But that said, GOPers are known to put insane people in high places of power in their party.
Insanity is now a prerequisite.
For those fond of Nazi comparisons (you know who you are and most of you regulars know how I feel about such at this point), what we are seeing is a replay of Hitler’s bunker. Delusions of grandeur vainly trying to drown the sound of approaching, inevitable doom. The only things missing from this epic final pity party are a few cyanide tablets and a loaded gun.
Hitler took a democratic republic into Fascism & took over Europe, etc. This clown has done what exactly to elevate him to Hitler’s evil status? Seems a false comparison. Fascism is much more a problem in America than one deluded clown, although his assault on science, history, democracy, & truth are no laughing matter, no matter how small the painted clown mouth. A false sense of safety seems the greater danger, as it played out in Europe as doom.
“A democratic republic” to replace a Victorian style monarchy which itself had been built on the brittle bones of an “empire” in name only, collectively reeling from the First World War…versus an ACTUAL republic that, despite its long, proud tradition of xenophobia and occasional dreams of empire, has managed to improve over two hundred plus years. As to the Hitler comparison, I seem to recall certain sombodies screaming about how internment camps and getting thousands to millions of our fellow citizens killed as basically being the Nazis all over again.
Nazism survived Hitler but it never again became what it once was. So it will be for Former Guy…and unless ACTUAL leadership takes those reins soon, what he started won’t have much of an afterlife.
Not sure of ur reference to internment camps since I’ve not commented on that dark chapter. U say they have no leadership. As long as Trump remains free of charges/prison time, they have a leader. No amount of soothsaying or intellectual weaving makes him harmless until he is. Fact.
He’s outside the known universe now – delusions of godhood. As well as delusions of walking into the WH (as if!) and finding former guy in the Oval Office. (AS IF! the SS wouldn’t even let him in without an official invitation. And Wood would need one as well, and I don’t think Biden is nuts.)
Unlike some I don’t think there are anywhere near enough bat-shit cray people, even in SC to elect him to a top leadership post. If I’m correct on that then Wood’s meltdown should be epic.
Said about SC during the antebellum period prior to the Civil War: “South Carolina is too small to be a republic and too big to be an insane asylum.”
I will add shark that this is one issue I hope u r correct. I want to believe, even with a dumbed down easily led electorate, ultra-rich oligarchs that hate democracy, 24/7 unregulated propaganda, & a materialistic culture that is, at it’s core, racist, that there is no way authoritarian rule seizes power in america. Of course, I NEVER thought a mafia connected openly racist sexual predator would get 73 million votes after EVERTHING he had done openly in front of us all. Repeatedly. So, I have given up on rectifying human stupidity. Maybe we’ll get lucky & some really smart cosmic species with bigger hearts than ours, will take pity. Guess we have that going for us. When it comes to this stuff, I deal in neither luck nor hope, just provable facts. Fact 1: 73 million is one third of the US population rather than half. Fact 2: GQP financiers Adelson and one Koch brother are dead. Fact 3: there is no demonstrable leadership being shown by anyone left in the GOP leadership at any level you care to name. Fact 4: Liz Cheney, arguably one of the oligarchs’ best tools, is heading for a clash with McCarthy, the weakest of the aforementioned leaders. Fact 5: 500 plus people have been arrested and charged in the January 6th insurrection with several making plea deals to keep the prison time as light as possible (see Jon Schafer). Fact 6: after decades of dominance, Fox News suddenly has competition for their diminishing market of viewers in OANN and Newsmax.
Conclusion: until there is active, competent leadership among Trump’s would-be heirs that expands popular support, unifies the media message and secures deeper pockets, the GQP remain more of a danger to themselves.
Fact: ur population figure that Frump only got 1/3 of the vote thereby implying he has less support is flawed. 153.4 million people voted & this authoritarian, proveably a sociopath & pathological liar, after 4 years of public lawbreaking & cruelty, received almost 74 million votes. I don’t have time to debate. Just know if u are one of our citizens who believe we are immune to authoritarian rule, I believe you are possibly in denial of the danger to our democracy. Even after an armed insurrection instigated by the president & members of the legislature. Oh. By the way none of the senators, Congress, the ex-attorney general or the president have been charged with anything. So the instigators still get to continue the assault on truth, facts, & our democracy. The leaders remain free, as does fox, who’s moniker is a lie, but stays as their brand. Sure, oligarchs by name live & die. Doesn’t mean the rich aren’t doing business as usual. The fact that a super rich well connected Trump supporter who’s daddy was VP can get kicked out of power for acknowledging gravity is not a good sign. So we’ll just have to agree to disagree.

How dare you write and publish an article bringing up this pending lawsuit that is yet to be adjudicated just to mock Lin Wood! This is all just hearsay at this point. There is a gag order in effect and Mr. Wood cannot even defend himself. This is just plain WRONG. It is no wonder people despise journalists these days. What makes you judge and jury of this kangaroo court?!?
