This is amusing. It seems to be universally accepted now that the way to spin the current Republican crisis of leadership is to present it as Democratic victimization. Didn’t Matt Gaetz get this ball rolling? Well, uh, yes, but, the Democrats all voted to remove the Speaker. So it’s their fault, not Matt Gaetz’ fault. They should have saved McCarthy from his own party. Or something. Here’s tape one.

I actually thought Austin Scott was a breath of fresh air when he said his compatriots looked “like idiots” and “all they think about is getting on television.” That didn’t last long, as you see. And here’s John Kasich, making even less sense than Scott, if that’s possible.

You see? It’s all the fault of the evil Democrats. They’re sitting back, eating popcorn and watching the show and what they should be doing is running not only their party but the other major political party as well. Man, this is getting beyond Double Speak, this is way out there. And of course My Kevin has the answer.

There, that proves it. This is all a plot by the Democrats. A Democratic ringleader must have gotten together with Matt Gaetz and Nancy Mace and the rest and persuaded them to bring the vote to the floor.

This can’t possibly be Republican dysfunction because it only took 15 rounds of voting for McCarthy to be elected back in January and the House has been without a Speaker for two weeks because Matt Gaetz had no plan, and surely that’s the Democrats’ doing. And then Scalise wasn’t good enough, and now Jordan’s not good enough and now they’re trying to cobble together a way that Patrick McHenry can sorta kinda maybe be Speaker. But the problem with that is that it’s written in the Constitution what the duties of the Interim Speaker are and are not. Shucks. Always something, right?

Here’s a tape that addresses the McHenry issue rather well.

And you see where this is leading, right? At some point it will become necessary for the House to function in some fashion and very probably there could be a coalition government of some sort formed. And possibly Hakeem Jeffries could take the gavel until the 2024 election. And then the spin on that will be a Democratic coup d’etat of the House.

Wait and see. This is all going to be spun for right-wing media as the Republicans being blameless victims and the Democrats being evil and doing a coup. That’s the common thread in all of these tapes is Democratic malfeasance and so look for that to only grow.

  1. I enjoyed this until the sentence about possibly Hakeem Jeffries taking the gavel. Come on Ursula, don’t go giving anyone any reason to entertain that fantasy. That’s all it is. A fantasy. Trump pleading guilty to every criminal charge, his whole “empire” being taking over and sold off with him not getting a dime and him heading off without protest to prison will happen before House GOPers allow Jeffries to become Speaker! What Jeffries and Democrats can and should do is, if/when the GOPers put up someone who can be trusted to both negotiate in good faith AND keep his or her word help push that person over the line in the Speaker contest.

    • My choice would be Tony Gonzalez from Texas. He is moderate and represents a very swing district on the Texas Mexico border. He is also one of the no votes on gymbag jordan. my dos centavos

  2. Trump’s, blame the other guys routine has served him well and been the poor example for the Republicans to follow …

Gym Jordon is a priceless example of a corrupt smart ass that has NO business being ANYTHING in OUR Congress … fake witnesses false accusations, continuous babel-speak as a supposed chairman of different committees, a huge waste of our time, with very little brain to function with, it’s amazing he can find his way to the GOP den of evil every day …

  3. I’m (begining to be) sick & tired of Rs blaming everything bad and wrong that they do and to themselves on anybody/everybody else. We all knew this was coming weeks ago. What took ’em so long?

F!!! their “base” and their “audience” or “audience of one.” It is getting to the point that it shouldn’t matter after this public clusterf*ck. Maybe MSM will grow a spine. Manu Roju oughta tell McCarthy he’s full of it to his face and see what happens: sputter, sputter, clink, clank… But there’s enough good material here for lots of campaign ads.

  4. Hooray! Hallelujah! Jim Jordan has still failed to be elected SPEAKER BUTTHEAD! I guess America hasn’t seen it’s last days after all… not counting the nearly 200 GOPS who did continue to mindlessly vote for the JERK. I’ve been contacting my own GOP rep (representing a Biden district in CA) & threatening him against voting for Butthead Jordan. I’ll be campaigning to vote him out in 2024.
I’m a bit disappointed in John Kasich, who I thought might be the only sane GOP left in America. But even he is joining in blaming the Dems for the GOP crazy. When did the GOP help Dems elect Pelosi as Speaker? I don’t remember her ever getting one GOP vote. The GOP have only spent the years Pelosi was Speaker demonizing her.

    • seems to me the Republicans have specifically and repeatedly rejected any Democratic input whatever. “We won’t have a coalition with the Democrats!” like that would be the end of the world.

  5. Your “… Wait and see. This is all going to be spun for right-wing media as the Republicans being blameless victims and the Democrats being evil and doing a coup…” sums it up nicely. The truth is that what’s left of the GOPtards doesn’t have a shred of integrity. A sugared almond has more integrity, and by the looks of how the GOP has spun off it’s axis, a sugared almond will last longer.

  6. Now math never was my best subject but I believe the republicans have something like 220. I’m not sure cause they are always changing that narrative. Now I know that the Democrats have 212 because they keep voting for Hakim and giving him 212 votes. Now they claim that the Democrats out voted them with 208 votes. Could someone please explain this to me.
