Oh, how sharper than a serpent’s tooth is an ungrateful network! Mike Lindell asked Fox News to air an ad relating “to his efforts to promote his claims of widespread fraud in the 2020 presidential election,” as the Wall Street Journal phrased it. We assume that means it was an ad having to do with the cyber symposium in a few weeks? In all events, Fox said no and Lindell got pissed and he pulled all of his advertising from Fox News. That’s an ouchie for Tucker Carlson. Carlson’s lost a lot of advertisers and can’t afford to lose too many more. This is a double slap in the face for Lindell from Fox, because first they refused to come and cover the event and now they won’t even run an ad for it? He.Is.Pissed. Wall Street Journal:

Mr. Lindell said he wanted to cancel the ads as soon as possible and that he had told his ad buyer to inform Fox News.

Mr. Lindell said he had asked the network to air a commercial promoting a cyber symposium, which he is scheduled to live stream next month. Mr. Lindell said the commercial wouldn’t specifically mention claims of election fraud. But he has said the symposium will prove the 2020 election was stolen from then-president Donald Trump.

Fox News parent Fox Corp. FOX -0.24% and Wall Street Journal parent company News Corp share common ownership.

MyPillow is among Fox News’s major advertisers, alongside supplement company Balance of Nature and weight-loss products provider Nutrisystem, according to advertising analytics firm iSpot.tv.

MyPillow spent almost $50 million on Fox News last year and so far this year has shelled out about $19 million for ad time on the network, Mr. Lindell said.

And now we get to the bottom line.

Fox News has been sued by voting-machine companies Smartmatic USA Corp. and Dominion Voting Systems, which allege the network’s hosts and guests made defamatory on-air comments about the companies’ products. Fox News has moved to dismiss both lawsuits, saying its coverage of claims about election fraud was newsworthy and protected by the First Amendment.

Now since you’ve been good boys and girls and read this far, here’s your Crackerjack prize. Or Crack Head prize, excuse me. You get to listen to Lindell scream at Fox. For 37 whole seconds.

Does anybody here get “Lindell TV” or is that something that just airs on Planet Lindell? What’s that you say? You can get it with the right tin foil hat and antenna via the eighth dimension? Thank you. I knew there was a way.

Another media marriage on the rocks. Fox will take a hit from this, but they probably already calculated that it was nothing compared to what Dominion could or would do to them, so this is the preferable course of action.

  1. I didn’t see this when I took my last look at the site last night before turning in. I checked and the date shows July 29 so it must have gone up fairly late in my time zone (eastern) so I’m just now seeing it around 6:30 in the morning.

Damn. I tend to not sleep well, in part because I so often have trouble getting my mind to wind down from what typically are thoughts about various troubles in the country, world or sometimes more personal stuff. But I’d have definitely gone to bed with a smile on my face and happy thoughts last night if this is the last thing I’d seen! Well, at least I get to start my day on a happy note.

  2. It will turn out to be a blessing in disguise as Fox News advertising revenue continues to plummet. I wish it would be the beginning of the end of Fox.

  3. That part about the coverage of election fraud claims being newsworthy is a bunch of bullshit. So is the anti-vax coverage. Both have gotten or are getting FAUX SPEWS in trouble because they don’t cover the news, they actively PROMOTE misinformation. And so, let’s see how long Murdoch will be able to keep his right wing titanic afloat if the lawsuits keep coming. We can only hope that more from the vaccine manufactures start landing on his desk, and copies for Ingraham and Carlson with their names as co-defendants.

  4. Fox News has always been a joke , the only one on there that tries to tell the truth is poor old Chris Wallace. I thought everybody knew that Fox, especially at night was all propaganda.
