For the last year now, former Trump Chief of Staff Mark Meadows has been akin to former eccentric billionaire Howard Hughes. After his senior aide Cassidy Hutchinson ratted him out on national television, Meadows went to the mattresses. The Meadows sightings were sporadic and unconfirmed, he had fallen off of the face of the earth.

Until now. Multiple news media outlets, including MSNBC are reporting that sometime recently that Mark Meadows testified in front of the DC grand jury. There are no details other than the fact that under oath, Meadows was questioned about both the Mar-A-Lago documents case, as well as the Capitol riot insurrection.

This can tell me only one thing. And that thing is that finally, after more than a year of ducking and weaving, Mark Meadows has finally rolled over on his former boss. Nothing else makes sense. Why drag Meadows before the grand jury for him to just plead the 5th Amendment on every question? Which means that Mark Meadows actually testified in front of the grand jury.

Which is devastating news for the Trump defense team. It has already been reported that the defense team has been in a frenzy about what the hell has been going on with Meadows, since he hasn’t just maintained a media radio silence, but has been blacked out for the Trump team as well. It’s been driving them crazy.

And now the news that Meadows has finally testified to the grand jury. And this is brutal for the the Trump defense team, since not only is Meadows in a perfect place to know Trump’s state of mind in the days leading up to the January 6th speech, his admission that he had lost, as well as his involvement in watching Trump supervise the loading of boxes of documents to be taken to Mar-A-Lago.

Personally, I find it inconceivable that Mark Meadows got immunity from the Jack Smith team. Meadows is pipik deep in everything that went on in the Oval Office from Trump’s election denial claims, to Trump’s knowledge of his electoral defeat before he sent a ravenous mob to trash the US Capitol building, to Trump’s personal supervision of the selection of documents to be packed up and transported to Mar-A-Lago.

I find it far more likely that Meadows has rolled over, trading his testimony on Trump for a reduction of personal charges as well as a promise of prosecutorial lenience when it comes to sentencing. Remember, Merrick Garland has repeatedly said that No man is above the law, and Meadows was too deeply involved in everything that went on to give hi a free pass.

This is the worst nightmare scenario for the Trump team. Meadows was in the room for every major discussion and decision, from The Big Lie to January 6th, yo Trump’s document choices. What the Trump legal team doesn’t know is what did Meadows say, and about what? And they won’t know until the indictments are unsealed.

It’s funny, but in the long run, it might turn out that the Mar-a-Lago documents might turn out to be anticlimactic. Because Mark Meadows is the one man who can tie Trump to everything. Strap in, this is just getting started.

  1. Hey, Judas rolled over on Jesus…anything is possible. I agree Merrick can’t just let him walk, like meadows has on voter fraud in NC, while running around spouting the big lie. Tonight, it’s Trump sweating blood, or…is that catsup?
