We’re so sorry, Uncle Albert. But the kettle’s on the boil, and we’re so easily called away   The Beatles   Uncle Albert

Yesterday I wrote that I had no doubt that the 1/6 committee had a whole treasure trove of information available to it, or it wouldn’t be holding public hearings in the coming weeks. But now I’m starting to wonder if it’s not worse for the GOP than I had thought.

See, the whole crux of the problem is that House Minority Leader Kreepy Kevin McCarthy is a brain dead moron. It has been clear from the start that the Democrats were going to have their select committee, with or without the GOP. Pelosi offered McCarthy a non partisan committee, and McCarthy blew her off.

Even with a Democratic dominated committee, McCarthy had the chance to pick 5 sane, grounded GOP loyalists, whom Pelosi found acceptable. Meaning that he would have eyes and ears on the committee to report back. But instead dumbass McCarthy played kiddie games, and ended up with 2 GOP members who wouldn’t give him the time of day.

The 1/6 committee has talked to more than 350 witnesses, and received and reviewed an almost untold number of documents. And thanks to McCarthy’s stupidity, McCarthy, McConnell, and Trump are literally flying blind wondering what the Democrats have. But they know it can’t be good.

Which is why I, intrigued, and wondering just how worried the GOP is. Nobody in the GOP House has been a bigger supporter and acolyte of His Lowness than Gym bag He groped me coach! Jordan. And no one has been a ore arrogant, stupid, and inept acolyte than Jordan.

Just look at his FUX News interview when he was asked by Chris Wallace if he spoke to Trump before, during, or after the riot. His disjointed, stuttering response was priceless, I don’t know, I talk to the President all of the time. I think it was before, yeah, before, but I’d have to check that. O talk to the President all the time. It may have been after, I’d have to check. Sweet Jesus, I can smell the guilt stench as I typed those words!

But here’s why I’m intrigued. The 1.6 committee asked Jordan to come on in voluntarily, and bring documents with him, to discuss what her knew, and what he discussed with Trump administration officials in the days leading up to the insurrection, as well as the day of the riot itself.

Now look, Jordan is the Trumpiest of the Trumpsters in the House. He is a nab-the-barricades, full-speed-ahead kind of Trump supporter.  Yet, when asked by FUX  News what his response was? My lawyers and I are reviewing the document, and deciding how to proceed. What?!? What ever happened to Fuck off and die!

Here’s what. Because McCarthy is the ultimate moron, nobody in the GOP has any clue what the committee has. And tonight, the committee invited FUX News bottom feeder Sean Hannity to come on in and talk about what he knows. And the committee punctuated the request with a publicly release of several texts from Hannity that seem to show him up to his peoples in the lead up to, and January 6th riot.

Which brings me back to Jim Jordan. Jordan loves to portray himself as Trump’s man. And as a sitting member of congress, one can only imagine he would have a better pipeline to Traitor Tot than a talk show host. But if the committee has all of that shit on Hannity, what do they have on him?

This is going to be fascinating to watch. It is an open question whether or not a sitting member of congress can be subpoenaed to testify, but that may not matter. But sitting members of congress have a constitutional responsibility to provide documents and testify if called. But forget about all of that for a moment.

What sitting member of congress wants to refuse an invitation to testify and provide documents, and then have the committee put out potentially politically fatal documents and texts going into an election year? And all because Kevin McCarthy couldn’t get his head out of his ass, and make sure he had eyes and ears on the committee.

The Democrats have played this perfectly so far. And if they keep using the release of documents to put pressure on GOP colleagues, this could turn into a mosh pit. My personal opinion? Jordan is a survivor. Trump is out of power, and this committee may wreck him. If Jordan feels sufficiently threatened, he’ll cooperate.

  1. Darn it, Murfster — every time I try to get out, you drag me back in! For the last few months I’ve resolved to keep my anticipation in check — not to yield to the wild, insane hope that at least some of the higher-ups responsible for the insurrection will someday be accountable for their traitorous deeds. Your optimistic take isn’t doing my serenity any good….

    • Nothing wild nor insane about that hope when the participants in this pathetic drama are this card-carrying stupid and blatant. You may well be shocked on how many go down under the weight of this.

  2. As Trump proved nearly a year ago, having all the advantages mean nothing if the leadership is too dim to take full advantage of them. McCarthy’s blunder with the 1/6 Committee is just the latest example of this principle in action.

  3. Knowing that they have until the midterms to get this done I’m sure the tRump will hit the fan by May. A summer of taking these seditionists down should benefit the Dems and Anti tRump GOPers in Nov.

  4. I’m not so sure Gymbag’s a survivor. He’s too stupid to know when to abandon the sinking ship, so by the time he decides to co-operate, it may be far too late. His potential usefulness to Trump ended when Pelosi blocked him from her committee. So both sides will give less than half a shit when he goes down in flames.

  5. Well, Jordan is enough of an asshole and he’s convinced himself he’s the great warrior or some such crap. Now Jordan being Jordan if he’s in the clear he would go just to waste their time and screw with their heads. But Jordan is running scared. No question in my mind.
