It will be good to see an edited version of the one and only debate which Herschel Walker and Raphael Warnock are going to have. So far things are so ridiculous that if these debates were a regular thing, you would have the makings of a sit com.

Warnock is a plain spoken, dignified man and Walker is not playing with a full deck.

The comedy gets going when Walker claims to be the champion of law enforcement and Warnock quips about Walker’s complex relationship with the truth — which draws immediate laughter. Then things get nuts. “One thing I have not done: I’ve never pretended to be a police officer,” Warnock said just before. “And I’ve never threatened a shootout with the police.”

Georgia Recorder:

Walker told the debate audience he would support former President Donald Trump if he ran again for president in 2024, and pivoted to attacking Warnock and Biden for the way the country withdrew troops from Afghanistan.

“He’s my friend, And I won’t leave my allies, which is what Sen. Warnock and Joe Biden did in Afghanistan,” he said. “They left their allies. And right now on a foreign stage, a lot of these people don’t trust us no more.” […]

Top Republicans have rallied to Walker’s defense in recent days, arguing that his reliable vote for conservative policy initiatives should be a higher priority for voters than issues as a candidate.

“They know that Herschel Walker Herschel Walker is going to help build a Republican majority in the United States Senate,” Arkansas Sen. Tom Cotton said at a rally in Carrollton Tuesday. “And they know that Herschel Walker will be a leader in the Senate, just like he’s been a leader in sports and in business for the state of Georgia.”

Recent polling has shown between five and 10 percent of likely Republican voters say they would vote for someone other than Walker, as independent voters also favor Warnock.

Beyond holding on to the seat and Senate majority, Democrats are hoping a potential Warnock victory could benefit other tight races.

Stacey Abrams is seeking to become the country’s first Black female governor in a rematch against incumbent Gov. Brian Kemp by aiming to expand the electorate outside party’s typical base and boost turnout among Black voters, and a strong showing by Warnock at the top of the ticket could help her prevail. In Georgia’s only competitive U.S. House race, Rep. Sanford Bishop faces a serious challenge from Republican Chris West to represent the southwest corner of the state.

Early voting begins Monday.

This isn’t the only senate race in the country where the Trump-picked candidate is egregiously unqualified, but it is the only one where said candidate is certifiably mentally ill. For everyone’s sake — and I mean this — Raphael Warnock needs to return to the Senate and Herschel Walker needs to get professional help.

  1. At least the moderator called walker out for violating the debate rules & using a prop. He looked damn silly whipping out the badge. These idiots have no self awareness. No shame whatsoever.

    • His badge is the sort of thing they give a,kid with leukemia who wants to be a cop when he grows up. Or the honorary flight attendant wings I got on my first flight at age 10 in 1959.

      • My first reaction to this badge thing was to think, what a sad figure Walker is. It’s no secret why republicans would march him out to try and win a senate seat. He’s black, so they figure they’ll pick up some black votes. But more importantly, if he wins, he’ll be easily manipulated by the leadership. It wasn’t long ago when Americans wanted people they thought might have at least as much integrity and more intelligence than themselves when it came to the people representing them in congress.

  2. Maybe Walker should be reminded that a lot of our allies lost complete trust in “his” guy, Trump, when he threatened to gut NATO (and met with Putin behind closed doors with only a Putin-provided translator). Walker should also be reminded that the Afghan fiasco started with TRUMP who “negotiated” with the Taliban but DELIBERATELY IGNORED OUR ALLIES (the legit Afghan government). Trump should be grateful that Biden got stuck with having to deal with the Afghanistan mess because if Trump had still been President, it would’ve been even worse.

Of course, I think someone should’ve checked Walker for an earpiece. I can’t imagine Walker having the capability of handling a debate without someone off-stage feeding him the lines.

  3. Wait a minute, walker actually whipped out his jr. deputy dawg badge? Seriously? THIS is what the ‘pubes in GA are going to vote for? OMG, not sure who looks stupider, walker or the ‘pubes who will vote for him.

    • He was in the NFL. That is all the red necks care about. 12years in GA convinced me that you cannot go wrong there by assuming that half the state is below the average I.Q.

  4. It’s a prop.
    No, it isn’t.
    Yes, it is.
    No, it isn’t.
“Mr. Walker, you’re very aware of the rules, aren’t you?”

Walker’s complete lack of intelligence and awareness of any kind was forcing the debate moderator to communicate with him as one would communicate with a child who refuses to brush their teeth and go to bed. Walker isn’t just uninformed, he is flat-out functionally illiterate, has obvious CTE symptoms, and is absolutely unable to relate to the rest of the world as an adult. Just classic….. 😆😆😆

  5. Mind boggling. Biden left Afghanistan? Well fuck yeah. 45 set it up the day after he lost the election. They showed the order last cmtte meeting. Told hubby yesterday, we live in ping pong brain times folks.
